Chapter 1: Fake Friend?
It's still early but I'm alrwady on my way to our classroom. Actually before I was always late
but then this school year I decided to change my habit.
When I arrived inside our classroom, I hurriedly walk to my chair and sat down.
I am silently reading a novel when Stella and Nathan, my classmates, arrived. Actually they are earlier than me but they always go outside when they arrive.
Stella walked her way to her chair, which is beside me, then she just got something in her bag before they went out again.
They didn't even say hi to me. Nice.
I closed my book when I heard the bell rang. It is the sign that we need to go oustide for the flag ceremony.
After the flag ceremony, we went back to our classroom. 7th Grade room.
Yes! I am only a 7th grader and I'm only 11 years old well, soon-to-be 12. I'm the youngest in the class but some of them are just older than me by months or days.
Our first subject teacher came and she greeted us, ofcourse we also greeted her back.
"Now, let's discuss about blah blah blah blah blah...."
When she was discussing I was staring at her to make her feel that I am listening to her when in fact, I am not.
I was even a little bit stunned when my classmates stand up
"Goodbye Maam Santos~~"
Our teacher didn't even bother to answer us back and when she finally goes out, we sat down.
"Dayanah, why were you so quiet?" Stella suddenly asked.
"Nothing. I am just not in the mood."
She just nod.
Time flies by so fast and it's already lunchtime.
I went to the Girls' Comfort room and texted my mom that I'll be home late. I texted her here in the comfort room because cellphones are not allowed in our school. Tss. Corny.
After that I went back to our room to sleep, but when I was in the middle of falling asleep...
"Good Noon class!"
Whaaaaaaat the heeeeeeccckkkkk?!
I forced myself to stand up but I didn't greet my teacher back.
"Do you all remember our lesson last Friday?" He asked us right after we sit down.
It's normal for us to not answer our teachers when they ask questions.
I didn't bother to listen to him because I know that we'll just answer our textbooks later and besides, I clearly remember what he taught us last week.
"Now, open your book on page 12 and answer Letter A, numbers 1-10."
When I was answering number 3, Stella poked me. I looked at her, waiting her to say something.
"Please help me in number 1."
I secretly sighed, 'Here we go again...using me when you need me.' I thought.
EVERY TIME that she need anything, she'll come to me but when she doesn't need anything, she'll treat me like I am not her friend.
Before when someone asks for some help in Mathematics, I'll tell them the answer immediately. If I'm in good mood, I teach them until they can do it on their own and I just realized that I was too stupid to give them answers and teach them when they should have just learn on their own. Duh? Am I supposed to be the only one listening to our teacher?
"I am doing something and I'm not yet finished." ....and it is our fault for not listening.
After I said that, I continued to answer the problems. I even tried to pretend and act as if I am annoyed because I don't know how to solve the problems, when in fact it is so easy for me.
After another subject, we've been dismissed.
While I was walking Stella suddenly crossed my mind.
I notice how she didn't give me attention for the last two weeks. She doesn't talk to me except for when she need something. We are even seatmates! The hell!
I stopped walking.
I saw boys fighting and Vincent, one of my classmates, is one of them.
I was supposed to go to him and help me but...
Someone covered my mouth and pulled me...
