Chapitre 261: Mistake
After a few minutes, Stephanie walked back into the room with a phone in her hand, it was a phone from her department, she didn't want Jason to send some secret information to his men if he has one, the call will be recorded and she would be able to look through it and track the receiver as well.
She passed the phone to Jason and stood there waiting for him to make a call.
Jason took the phone and smiled at Stephanie and dialed Derry's number.
"Hello, Derry it's me, Jason"
Jason said.
"Ah, Mr. Jason what are you doing? what is the reason behind this call?"
Derry asked.
Derry called him Mr. Jason because this call was not from Jason's phone, they have already discussed it before, whenever Jason calls him from a different phone Derry will answer his as Mr. Jason.
"Looks like the new Law Enforcement thinks I am a criminal or a spy, I hope you can solve this"
Jason said.
"Oh, I forgot, don't worry it will be taken care of"
Derry said and ended the call from the other side.
Jason smiled and passed the phone back to Stephanie.
"See, you didn't have to make such a fuss about it"
Jason said and chuckled.
Hearing his Stephanie frowned and started to doubt her decision, she wondered who this man called, the talk was small and the man in front of her doesn't seem to be worried at all, this all indicated her that something bad is about to happen to her.
As she stood there watching Jason playing with his handcuff suddenly the door was slammed open behind her and a man in his mid forty stormed in and kneeled down right in front of Jason.
"Sir please forgive up, my officer didn't know who you are, please spare us"
The man quivered in fear and didn't try to lift his head, Jason looked at the man but he didn't say anything, he looked at Stephanie with a smile.
Stephanie is shocked by this sudden development, she didn't think that the chief himself would come and kneel down before this man, she realized she fucked up hard, seeing Jason looking at Stephanie the chief realized something.
"Stephanie, what are you doing apologize"
The chief shouted at Stephanie, Stephanie was caught by surprise, she got scared and quickly bowed down her head and looked at Jason.
"I am sorry sir, I made a mistake, I take full responsibility for this"
Stephanie said.
Julian put his hand forward at Stephanie showing her the handcuff, Stephanie nodded her head and unlocked the handcuff, Jason stood up from his chair and stood right in front of Stephanie.
"You know, Miss Stephanie, normally I don't really give a fuck about what people to and to be honest I was impressed by how you handled your work but you did one mistake, and that was trying to hit me, I hope you can find a way to come clean with me"
Jason said and walked passed her, once Jason was out the chief got back to his feet and looked furiously at Stephanie.
"Stephanie, do you know what you did?"
"Chief, I have no idea and I even checked in the database, he was not in the database at all, how can he be someone important if he has no information about himself, even the richest man in Freyton is under that data list, why is he so special?"
Stephanie asked.
"I don't know, I am not qualified to look into this, not even the president of the country cannot look into this, forget about it and try to find how to please that man or this great job of ours will be given to someone else"
The Chief said and yelled at Stephanie.
"Yes Chief"
She said and walked out of the room leaving the Chief behind as he worried about his future.

Jason walked outside of the Bureau and got back into his car, he was impressed by the changes in the law enforcement department of this city, he was glad that he chose Clara, she was really up to his expectation.
She did even better than he predicted, Freyton is totally under her control and with this, the future that he had seen for Freyton might come true and for that, he has to keep Freyton off the radar from the upcoming war and he also has to find a way to call of the Armageddon.
He needs a way to become more powerful and to do that he needs to be in a higher standing in this world, even if he has a connection with people at the top it is not enough, he should be the one at the top, from what he has learned till now, the Vampire Emperor is the strongest being in this world and he is still growing stronger by the day.
"Ok no time to waste here, I should go and meet Derry"
Jason said and rode towards the hideout, after a few minutes he finally arrived at his hideout, as he looked around he didn't see anything different around the hideout, it was the same old abandoned area where no one came around, he saw few of his minions standing guard but this time it was different, they had guns with them and they seemed very advance compared to the previous once they had.
When they saw Jason's car the minions got excited and rushed towards him, seeing their boss after so many days, they felt happy.
"Boss, you are back"
The minions said.
"Yes, now get back to what you were doing"
Jason said and walked past them, as he entered the hideout he saw some slight changes inside, the door that leads to the underground basement was twice as big as before.
"Interesting, some things have changed here as well".
Chapitre 262: Old Apartment
Jason saw the big metal door that was perfectly blended in with the wall around it, he walked towards it and looked around the door, he found no way of entry, it looked like a normal plain wall but he could still see the crease around indicating that this is a door.
As he was about to ask one of his minions on how to get in the wall in front of him suddenly went inside revealing stairs that went down, it was the same stairs as before, he walked down the stairs and saw a very different scene than before, the basement was not twice as big as before, there are more servers around it and a lot of huge monitors everywhere.
People are working around, some of them are old faces and some of them are new to him, after looking around he walks in deeper into the room to find Derry sitting in front of a huge monitor and a young woman sitting next to him.
'What is she doing here'
Jason thought and walked towards Derry, Derry turned around and saw Jason walking towards him so he quickly got up from his chair and rushed towards Jason to give him and hug but Jason used his hand and stopped him right before him.
"Come on, I just want to hug you"
Derry said as he tried to reach Jason with his arms but Jason's arm was too long, Jason then looked at the woman who was sitting next to Derry.
"What is she doing here?"
Jason asked.
"I told her about us, I couldn't hide it from her for too long"
Derry said.
The woman is Jessica, Derry's girlfriend.
She gets up from her seat and walks towards him and nods her head.
"Brother"
She says softly.
"Even if you are Derry's girlfriend, we have no connection, you cannot call me that"
Jason said with a flat tone.
Jessica didn't say anything and just looked at Derry with a sad face.
"I hope this isn't a mistake. If something happens you know what I will have to do and you cannot stop me"
Jason said as he looks at Derry.
"She won't do anything or tell anyone, I trust her and you only have to trust me, and I know what you will do but I am willing to take this risk"
Derry said.
"Whatever, show me what that woman in my previous apartment is doing right now"
Jason said and walked past them and stood in front of the huge monitor.
Derry looked at Jessica and nods at her, she didn't say anything and just looked at Jason and followed Derry.
Derry sat down and opened up live footage from Jason's old apartment, there is no one inside, it seems no one is present in the room at the moment.
"Looks like she went outside, what will you do?"
Derry asked.
"Keep monitoring the room, inform me if she comes back"
Jason said and walked away, he was not in a good mood right now, he didn't like Derry bringing in Jessica inside the hideout, she is currently the weak link that is somehow connected to him and he doesn't like it, it was very foolish of Derry to bring her in but he cannot do anything now.
He has to prepare for the worse and if Jessica does somehow betray him he has to kill her even if Derry is going to hate him for that.
He walks out of the hideout and drives away in his car without wasting his time, back in the basement Jessica is sad because she didn't expect her interaction with Jason to go like that, she thought that Jason liked her and would welcome her in his life, even though Derry had told her it will be hard she didn't think he would be right.
"Hey, don't worry, my brother is like that, sooner or later he will soften up to you"
Derry said and hugged her.
"I don't know, he didn't even talk to me properly, he said to not call him brother as well, I think he doesn't like me"
Jessica said.
"I don't know about that, who my brother likes and who he doesn't, only he knows about it, but don't worry as I said he will like you, you are my girlfriend after all"
Derry said and comforted her.
Jessica nodded her head and thought about it.

Back to Jason, he got back to his old apartment, he looked around the area and saw some changes, the roads have been reconstructed, the houses around have also been reinforced, he then looked at his apartment and got in, he got into the elevator and pressed the button to his floor.
As he stood on the elevator he felt something familiar around as if it was something that belonged to him, he didn't know what it was but it didn't feel threatening.
The elevator stopped at his floor, he walked down the old cracked corridor finally stopping in front of the door of his old apartment.
He turned the knob and opened it, the door was not locked, well it couldn't be because he still had the key, he walked in and looked at the lock from inside and saw it was actually broken, only the latch was working properly.
He looked around the apartment and saw it was clean, he has never seen this room so clean before.
'Well at least she did something good'
Jason thought and started to look around, nothing seems to have changed during the time he left this room, only a few people live in this apartment and they don't care about who is living next to them, they are either low-level gangsters or poor students who are living alone, at the end of the day Jason doesn't care.
After looking around the room he found some clothes that belonged to the woman who is currently living here, he could feel the same feeling when he was at the elevator, it was stronger this time.
'Something is really weird, is she really that woman?'
Jason thought and sat down on his old bed and turned on the old vintage tv, waiting for this woman to come back.
