Chapitre 83: Cooperate
Jason stayed up on the building for a while, he noticed that Bran will soon gain consciousness.
"Will those things not come?"
Jason said as he looked around.
"Maybe I should wait for a while"
He waited for a few minutes and noticed the Bran regained his consciousness,
"Where am I?"
Bran asked himself and tried to remember, he then suddenly grabbed his head and started to scream in pain.
'Looks like he is gaining all the memories, just like Sara'
Jason though and waited for a while, he saw Bran has fainted again from all the pain he went through.
"I guess I have to wait for a while"
Jason said and lied down on the hard floor and waited for something to happen.
His waiting finally came to a stop because he heard aggressive howling rushing towards his direction, he opened one of his eyes and looked to see what is causing these howling, he got up as he saw the huge cloud of soul-like creatures.
"I guess I was right again, they do come when an old one leaves a body, the others come to take it away, I think I need to talk with Sara and figure out more about these things"
Jason said as he observed their behavior.
The swarm of souls started to make a tornado around the alley where Bran's body is, Bran seems to get back his consciousness and when he opened his eyes and saw the storm of Soul-leeches circling him, he screamed in fear and tried to get up and run away, as he did he stumbled again and fell on his butt, he backed down as his eyes reflected pure horror seeing these Soul-Leeches.
The Soul-leeches became frenzied as they started to rush towards Bran's body but the ones in the front would get torn apart by the ones in the back.
Soon an all-out massacre started to take place between these Soul-leeches, Jason just stood there and watched, it was the same scene he witnessed in his room, these soul-like creatures fight till only one is left to take over the body.
Bran is on the ground as fear made his mind completely go blank and he might just turn retarded if he experiences any more scares.
Soon only one Soul-Leech is left and it dashed towards Bran and entered his body, soon Bran started to twitch again and closed his eyes, after few minutes he opened his eyes again and this time he returned back to how he was before Jason met him.
Jason also noticed this and got surprised, he thought he might have some personality changes but from the looks of it, he seems to act as if nothing happened at all.
Bran got up and stretched his hand, legs, neck, and jaw, the Soul-Leech in him seems to be getting used to the new body it has claimed as it received all the knowledge of its host's previous Soul-leech.
"Who was that man who killed the old one, he might be dangerous, I need to get out of here"
Bran said and tried to run away but Jason has been waiting for such a long time, how could he let go of this experiment of his.
He jumped down from the high building right in front of Bran, Bran felt something dangerous is approaching and he backed off, as he did he saw a man landing right in front of him, the ground beneath his feet cracked a little.
"It's you again"
Bran got scared and backed off, even if Bran has a new Soul-leech in him they still share the same experience.
"So you do remember me, having a change is soul doesn't mean anything I guess"
Jason said and got to his feet.
"So tell me what are you and I will let you live"
Jason said.
He knows he cannot put Bran under control or that soul thing will die, he has to make it feel pain so that it talks, the old fashion way.
Jason took out his baton and swung it a few times which made sounds by vibrating the air.
Bran backed away once again, he knows he cannot fight Jason.
"Look, man, just answer the question and you will be spared from all the torture you are going to face"
Bran may be stronger than normal humans but is still weaker compared to other supernatural beings, the Soul-Leech in him is just a little stronger than the one he had before as it has all the experience of the previous one and its own power as it survived the brutal battle to win over this body.
The Soul-Leech who is now Bran decided to cooperate with Jason since he cannot die right after getting a body to control.
"Ok I will cooperate"
Bran said and calmed down a little.
"What are you?"
Jason asked the first question as he has no idea what he is dealing with.
"I am a Soul-leech"
"Soul-leech? whatever. Why do you take over this body?"
"To grow?"
"Explain"
"I am a newborn Soul-leech so I had nothing that will help me develop, so taking over a new body and having access to their brain will help us develop"
"You seem to have developed already"
"I gained all the experience and knowledge of the previous Soul-leech who possessed this body"
"Oh, so that's how it is?"
"Explain to me how did the previous Soul-Leech dies right after getting out of the body but you and those whole bunch seemed to be fine"
"As I said we are newborn, we don't need a body to stay alive but we will just be like a newborn child and won't be able to grow or develop at all, so when we take over a body we will lose our ability to stay alive outside the body as our life force will get connected to our host's body, if the host dies we die as well, but its completely opposite when a Soul-leech dies before the host, the host will gain back all the memories and experience we had"
Bran explained.
Jason thought for a while and asked another question.
"Why do the host who is free seemed so scared of you Soul-Leeches?"
"When a Soul-leech dies before a host, it leaves behind a deep fear of our species to them so that all the knowledge the previous one has won't be wasted by going to a human, we Soul-Leeches are able to take over a person who is suffering from extreme fear, so when the host sees our species they get scared and it allows newborn Soul-Leeches to take over that body and receive all that knowledge"
"How can you take over a person who is not under the control of any Soul-leeches?"
Now Jason is trying to get the real information as he already has a rough understanding of how these Soul-leeches are.

Chapitre 84: More Secrets Revealed
Jason looked at Bran and waited for the answer.
"Newborn Soul-Leeches are fused into small babies as they have no resistance what so ever by doing a magic ritual, but it's very rare to see one as not many babies are brought into these rituals, another way is to insert newborn Soul-leeches into a young adult, fear is the key, once a person is put in a shock due to extreme fear a ritual is conducted to insert the Soul-Leech in the body."
Bran paused for a second and continued.
"Some Soul-Leeches can transfer body if they found a better one or the body is too weak to develop further, a Soul-leech who is already in a position of a body can take over another body by doing the same ritual, as they receive the help of magic to get out of their old hosts body without dying"
Bran stopped as that's all he had to say, Jason know has an idea of how these Soul-leeches take over their host's body.
"Who conducts these rituals?"
Jason asked.
He knows that a Soul-Leech alone cannot do a ritual as he didn't sense any magic in them.
"When a Soul-Leech crosses 500 years of life span they can do soul magic, that can only be done by a Soul-Leech"
"Soul Magic?"
"Yes, it's very complicated magic, only a Soul-Leech can do it they seem to gain its knowledge after living for a long time, so the one who performs these rituals is a Soul-leech who are more than 500 years old"
"So the royal family are Soul-leeches?"
"Not all of them"
"What do you mean by that?"
"The two princesses, they are the once under the control of Soul-Leeches, the rest who are living in the royal family are their puppets"
"Oh, so all these are being done by the two princesses?"
"Yes"
Jason didn't expect he would get all the information before he even does some investigation.
"Looks like it's my lucky day"
Jason said and walked towards Bran.
"Tell me what are you intending to do if I let you live?"
Jason asked.
"I cannot do anything, I cannot run away from this city until I become strong enough to escape the shackles that are put on young Soul-leeches by the ones who made us"
"So you are of no use to me"
Jason said and was about to kill him.
"Wait, I can still do whatever you want"
Jason stopped, he noticed something, he saw that Bran was not like other Soul-leeches who seemed to worship the royal family and the king.
"You seem different, why are you trying to betray the princesses who created you"
"The old host of the body was two hundred years old, he was already cut off most of the shackles that connected him with the royal family's control, just fifty years and he would be able to leave this city by breaking the final shackles, as I took over this body now I also need 50 years and I will be able to leave this city and develop on my own without relying on this city"
"How do you relay in this city?"
Jason asked as he didn't know what Bran is talking about.
"We are connected to the place we are created, we can only leave it once we are strong enough, there are so many of us in this city that we are not developing fast, the city has a power source underground, it never runs out of energy as it takes in energy from the core of the planet itself, this power source is under the control of the two sisters and only a little of the energy is released outside of the palace.
It is not enough for every Soul-Leeches present in the city, I can do whatever you tell me, I just need 50 years to get out from here, just let me live"
"You said you are created, do you mean you were created by those Princesses?"
"Yes"
"Why would they create you, if they want to take all the resources for themselves?"
"Of course, those two are greedy bitches but like every other species in the world, reproduction is the key to the further development of the species, us Soul-leeches don't really have gender, they can be reproduced by performing sexual activities with female to female host, sexual activity is done to transfer soul energy to each other and it will help them create newborn soul leeches"
"So you are telling me that those two sisters play with each other?"
"Yes, they may be sisters from a physical perspective but the Soul-leeches inside them are two completely different entities"
"How old are these sister anyway?"
"From what I know they may be more than 800 years old"
Jason was shocked by hearing their ages.
"How come the world didn't notice them?"
"They only went public recently, they were hiding all along behind their puppet the king, I don't know why they went public but somethings might be going on from the inside that we cannot see"
Bran is being very helpful for Jason right now, he is getting information after information.
'He has been useful, let's see what he can do'
Jason though.
"Give me your number, I will call you when I need you"
Jason said and took his number.
Jason rarely leaves someone alive when he confronts them but seeing that Bran might be of some help he decided to leave him now.
