After getting to Virginia he tried to get into the Culver University to get more information about the project of General Ross. But the only way someone could get into the restricted area where the project was going on was if they had clearance.
Coulson of course didn't have one and there was no way he would get one of Ross found out about him, as the General being the military man he is doesn't like the spy agencies and him being a SHIELD agent would make things worse.
So he became a Janitor at the university and was able to enter the Restricted Section to clean it but even then the place where all the experiments and research projects were kept was restricted to him, so he could only keep an eye from the distance.

LA, Ken's House.
It's been two months since Stark's announcement and nothing big has happened hence Ken has been focusing on teaching Skye. Though Stark did decide to start Stark Expo again which will take another 4 months to get started so it looks like Iron Man 2 will happen even though he tried to change it.
He asked his Russian contacts to find Ivan Vanko or Anton Vanko, cause till Anton Vanko is alive there is still a chance for him to stop Ivan Vanko from going on a psychotic revenge of his but there is no news of Ivan Vanko or Anton Vanko.
"Take a break for 5 minutes then we will go at it again Skye" Ken said as he went to the living and see if there is anything new happening
"5 Minutes? I don't think I can even stand after this and you want to do this again in 5 minutes" Skye said
"You are lucky it's me who is teaching you if it were any of my master's then you really would have died and since two of them were quite exceptional doctors they would revive you and start the training again" Ken stated
"What?" Skye asked in disbelief
"I know what you are thinking! That I am making this up but trust me nothing in said about them is false that's why I hope you never met them" Ken said in a serious tone to let Skye know that he was being serious.
"Wha- you " Skye couldn't say anything as she didn't have words to say.
"Breaking News during a military project being conducted in Culver University an accident occured resulting in the demolition of a part of the university, luckily no one died but quite a few people were injured and we're sent to the hospital. We are still trying to find out about the project but the military has kept a tight led on it, even the scientist included on the project are unknown" News Reporter said on the TV
The moment Ken heard the news he knew what the project was and exactly what happened so he couldn't help but click his tounge as he missed the chance of fighting Hulk. He knew that he won't win against that guy but it would have been a nice experience to fight him at his best and gain experience from it.
"Tch, Looks like I will have to wait" Ken said
"What do you mean your will have to wait?" asked Skye
"I was thinking of sending you to Culver University for higher studies after you complete your highschool but it will have to wait now" Ken said with a smile.
"What!? Who said I want to go to the university? I don't even go to highschool and only take online classes so why would I go to a University " Skye said
"I want you to make friends but you can't do that online so that's why will go to university " Ken replied

Fury was watching the video of Hulk going on a rampage at Culver University and his headache was increasing because of it.
"So that's Dr. Bruce Banner who became like that after trying to replicate super soldier serum while using gamma radiation?" asked Fury
"Yes Sir, General Ross haven't told Dr. Banner what exactly the research was about, Dr Banner was saying his daughter so that's also the reason that he didn't ask about the research topic fully" Coulson explained
"Find him, keep an eye on him but don't engage him, I want to know everything he does and whether or not he can control this green monster" Fury ordered
Coulson accepted the orders and left the room leaving Agent Hill alone with Director Fury.
"What's going on with Stark?" asked Fury
"He is trying to create a new element but isn't having any success" Hill stated
"What about Kenichi Shirahama? Is he still in Japan" asked Fury.
"Yes, he is going to Tokyo University and regularly attending his classes" Hill replied
"Keep an eye on the two and make sure they don't meet before I know about it." Fury stated to which Hill nodded her head and left the office.
Fury was contemplating whether he should give the box of Howard Stark's belonging to Tony or not. He knew that Howard must have left one clues that only his son could find, their scientist tried to find out about it but none of them were successful now his only choice of to give it to Stark and hope that he would be able to find it and then ask him for it. But the only way they would be able to have Tony hello then it's if he thinks of them in positive light and when he is desperately in need of their help. Because of Kenichi Shirahama, Fury knows that he isn't Stark's only option.
Akisame Koetsuji and Ma Kensei are well known doctors especially in East Asian countries and they have known to have 100% success rate in operation whenever the two of them so it together, he knows that Tony also knows about it so he may try to get their help so he would need to move before that.

And Iron Man stands up with an opening door in the bottom of the aeroplane. And he jumps out said aeroplane, landing on a stage. All very ostentatious. Dancing girls. Fireworks.
STARK EXPO – FLUSHING, NEW YORK
The suit dismantles and Tony in his Three piece suit is seen by everyone.
Pretty much everyone in the crowd starts chanting "Tony! Tony! Tony! Tony!"
"It's good to be back. You missed me?"
"Blow something up!" a man shouted from the crowd
"I missed you too. Blow something up? I already did that. I'm not saying that the world is enjoying its longest period of uninterrupted peace in years because of me. I'm not saying that from the ashes of captivity, never has a greater phoenix metaphor been personified in human history. I'm not saying that Uncle Sam can kick back on a lawn chair, sipping on an iced tea because I haven't come across anyone who's man enough to go toe-to-toe with me on my best day."
