Chapitre 28: Future
Time was ticking by, and they were sitting, hands intertwined, staring in each others eyes, eating ice-cream. Adria indeed did not had the time to plan a perfect date, but what is perfect if not this?
They both knew everything was going to change, so they let this silent, seemingly normal time, fill the void. There were no words, but so much was being said. The squeeze of hand, the touch on head, the wipe of lips, the eye contact, leaning on shoulder. Everything was yelling love. But sadly, this world will never accept it, so they knew they had to run away, far away, where no one will disturb them.
Soon, the tub was empty. Ditto held Adria's hand, and asked, "What are you thinking?"
Adria looked at her, her eyes full of warmth and love, and squeezed the hand she was holding. Then she looked away. She said after a moment,"We need to leave this city, as soon as possible. A few days ago, it was my home, my empire, my everything. But today, it's not safe for us anymore. I don't want the life I am living right now, directionless, empty, full of hate and disgust. I want you, I want love. And you know, my only parent, my dad, who is the king of underworld, will never allow someone as helpful as me to leave his dark world. I never spent much time with him, but I know he will rather kill me than let me fulfill my wish away from him. It's impossible for us to live in this city, no,in this country anymore. We need to leave. We will take your grandfather with us, we are leaving the country." At this point, Adria couldn't keep her calm inact anymore, tears raining down her cheeks. "I beg you Ditto, please come with me, please don't say no. I want a life with you. My world was too dark, too cold. You are my sunshine, and I can't loose you. Please come with me. I will give you whatever you desire. I love you, Ditto, I really do. Please, please come with me."
Ditto didn't knew what to do, she hugged Adria and began to cry. Between her sobs, she said, "Only if you knew how much I want to leave this country, Adria, You know I am in love with you too. I too want a life with you. I am ready to follow you with my life wherever you take me, because you are the one who gave me this life. I was just waiting to put a date to my death. A life without hope is not life. I was almost dead. I won't leave you, never in this lifetime..." Her voice drowned in her cries, and they both hugged each other and cried out loud. It was the most calming time of their whole life.
Soon, they began to wipe off each others face. Then they began to wander mindlessly around the park. Adria suggested, "Let's go and discharge your grandfather from hospital, I have documents ready, let's leave the country then." Ditto nodded, said nothing.
Leaving the park, they sat in a small van. Her bike was nowhere in sight. Ditto didn't questioned anything at all. She already trusted Adria with her life. Beside, she had nothing to lose. Her dignity was trampled by the beast repeatedly, she saw her parents lose their breathe before her eyes. Is there something more worse than this? Thinking, she closed her eyes, and drifted off to sleep.
Adria was utilizing the force she created for herself, unknowingly, that she will need to use it one day. She already asked Eva to help her and her men move out of the country and hide somewhere. She saw Ditto's sleeping face, their hands clutching. She was looking beautiful. Breathtaking.
She had her men discharge the old man, Patrick. Patrick and Ditto saw each other, and began to cry. Adria was least needed right then. She went to change her face according to the pictures she received. She needs to look like them and they will be able to leave safely then. They were robots sent by Eva living in their country, business tycoons. Who would have thought they were robots all along?
It was supposed to be a private jet trip, and then they will get down middle of somewhere and the news will be how two prominent businessmen lost their lives because of plane crash.
Adria and Patrick were business partners, and Ditto was acting as their secretary.
When the old man and the girl were done crying, their attention shifted to Adria, who told them to change their appearance according to the pictures. She kept an unusual calm as she was in deep thought. Ditto too thought that now wasn't the right time to tell Patrick about their relationship.
The old man kept rambling about all the stuff he wanted to tell his grand daughter. After finding his only family he was overjoyed.
Little did Ditto and Adria knew, he already knew that the were in love. Their chemistry couldn't be hidden and their anxious face told his experienced mind that they were doing something big and dangerous. Alas, what could he do other than rambling endlessly? If they won't tell him, he choosed to keep quiet.
Everyone changed their appearance, and no one was looking recognizable. On this old man shot a joke and the tense environment relaxed a bit.
Anxiety gripping Adria's heart, she robotically completed every task. Her body was tensed as she was overthinking that everyone hates her and they will kill her if they will find out who she is. She was thinking that her father, or maybe Shredder knows everything and their men are scattered around the airport. The old lady, the mom with a baby in her arms, the young girl, old business man, every one was a threat to her.
She wasn't able to relax until she sat in the jet. And then, she broke down in Ditto's arm. She never took a step so far. With every decision she was taking, she was risking three lives.
