The group were shocked. For them, 30 was a big number, because that means more races wanting them dead and they don't even know why.
" What the hell do you mean by still discovering?"
" Replying to host. A million years ago, a team was formed that was sent to collect information about all races, but they found the land had no end and more and more before unknown races existed or appeared out of nowhere."
"Of course, they had to add more…" Ethan grumbled.
" What are these races?" asked Tyrion
" There are 3 types of races, humanoids, monsters and Voidlings. Humanoids are mutated humans that became ancestors to a new race. Monsters are born like humans and are a race of their own. Voidlings are the most dangerous and We have no current information except that it is between the boundary of existing and not existing."
"How strong are they?" Bastian asked with fighting intent overcoming his previous fear.
" Humanoids are determined at birth, they can never reach an ascended being but they can progress faster than the regular ancient human race. Monsters are the same but they can reach ascended being where they can shapeshift and turn into a human looking being."
" How can we get stronger and how do we go from primal evolver to a transcendent one?" Ethan asked.
" Host has to gather origin energy into his body and continuously refine until it reaches a bottleneck. Afterwards, each breakthrough is different. To become a transcendent you have to integrate the element power into your blood and organs."
" But how can we gather the origin energy? and what is it anyway?" asked Elora.
" Each bloodline uses origin energy differently. Origin energy is existent all over the mainland. All beings can absorb it. But humans use techniques to catch up to other races."
" What are these techniques?"
" Please go to the library and pick the most appropriate one for the host's bloodline."
" Where is this library?" asked Tyrion.
" We are at the library."
"It seems it disintegrated by time or was eaten by those damned goblins." They looked discouraged.
" Can we advance without those techniques?" Asked Bastian.
" Yes, but the progress is extremely slow. The person would probably die before advancing to a high level. "
" How slow exactly? What do you mean by that last phrase," asked Ethan
" Normally a natural awakened would use 1 year without any supplements to advance from Early stage primal evolver to an early stage transcendent. With supplements, it would take half the time with a technique in hand."
" After advancing from a level to a higher one, the life span gets stronger and extended. A primal evolver can live for 200 years. A transcendent 500, an extreme 1000, a supreme 2500, a paragon 5000, a divine 10000 while an ascended being 100000 years."
" Wow this is a lot to take in, I really can't imagine living so long!" They went quiet by the shock before Ethan remembered something.
" We took three years and still did not make it to transcendents, this is with supplements. Wait what are the supplements you are talking about?"
" Medicine made from beast core and stalks of herbs mainly then other complementary objects depending on which medicine."
" Do you have the recipes?" asked Ethan excited.
" Yes, I have beginner recipes for primal and transcendent evolvers but not high ranked medicine for these levels."
" medicine is also ranked?" asked Elora
" Yes, from 1 to 9 with 9 being the highest and 1 the lowest. What I have at my disposal are rank 1 and 2 recipes."
"Better than nothing I guess. What about weapons are they also ranked?" asked Tyrion.
" Yes the same as medicine."
" Then what about these weapons?" Elora asked as each of them put forward their weapons.
" These weapons are crudely made and integrated with a primal core, barely able to reach rank 1" a light glowed from their palms and scanned the weapons. They didn't take it to heart though because they made them with no equipment at their disposal.
" Another important question, what are you?" asked Bastian
" I am the artificial intelligence of the bio-progress tracking device. Also your personal information assistant. Here with you until you reach late-stage transcendent after which a more advanced AI would replace me and I would be passed on to the later generation."
The four looked at each other and sat down no longer caring about the smell. They started processing the huge amount of information they just got. Now that they had some sort of understanding, they needed to organise and prioritize what to do next.
" Did the human race have ascended beings?" They asked.
" Yes! The human race leaders were all ascended beings."
" Then how did they end up like this? aren't they supposed to be the strongest?"
" Information not found. Error 404."
" I remembered something, what does blood purity mean?"
" The purer the bloodline the stronger the abilities unlocked would be."
"That's not very important since we can create our own." Bastian shrugged.
" I think we should look around and see if there's any hope of finding any technique that might give us a clue on how to advance," Ethan suggested.
They started looking at the room hoping to find something when they remembered how the bio-devices came. they turned around to look at the still glowing ball.
"Can you open the hidden rooms?"
Checking authority…
Emergency protocol overwrite….
Request granted.
A door opened and a chip came floating towards them. Ethan held it and inspected it but had no way to know what was inside, it's not like they had a computer! wait! I have something better.
" Bio-whatever-device tell me can you read what this chip contains?"
" Yes host, but it will be consumed after. will the host proceed?"
"Yes!" He didn't bother to think about it, his brothers would still give it to him since Bastian focused more on fighting and weapons while Tyrion's interests were on strengthening his body. Only he was thirsting for knowledge like a maniac. Elora also seemed to only focus on upgrading her abilities and enjoyed drawing and makings figurines of wood so it did not seem like a problem either.
They also, of course, did not mind. His palm glowed as the same thing that happened to the cube repeated and Ethan caught his head and bent down almost screaming from pain. A big amount of information flowed into his mind in pieces. Apparently, the chip was damaged and incomplete.
So he found some incomplete recipes, techniques, other kinds of info but very few completed ones and he still had not had enough time to process everything.
" Hey, what happened?"
" Nothing much, hard to believe that this was a million years ago, they were so advanced. Comparing the advancement of Earth to what used to be here is really silly. Maybe after 10 thousand years, they'll be able to catch up."
" So what did you get? techniques?" asked Bastian.
" Yes and No." Ethan nodded then shook his head.
" How?" Tyrion asked.
" The chip was damaged so the info is incomplete, however, I think it's better If I study this I'm sure to make a technique of our own, With what I got I can judge that this one is very basic."
"How long will it take?" Elora asked.
" At least another year, but we would need to intensify the experiments and I need some live goblins. The stronger the better, after all, they are humanoid beasts and they have some relation to us even though I hate to admit it."
" But even so? What about the barrier?"
" We can leave, it detected our bloodlines and did so for us to discover this, now with these devices we can leave anytime," he said
" So we'll have to stay in the forest or still leave."
"It's better to leave after we reach transcendent." Ethan sighed and said:
" I'll share what I got with you after I wholly process it. But what I do know is that it's still very dangerous out there and that we're very lucky."
