Leo held Kitty and wrapped a strand of hair around his finger, and kissed her lips. "The second you grew weaker was the moment that I awoke. I am glad that you are back here with me, but you shouldn't keep things from me." Leo kissed her cheek then pulled her in, holding her in place, sleeping lightly for the rest of the night.
Kitty stirred in the morning and looked up at Leo, who was frowning at her. "Morning, sorry I left without saying anything."
Sighing, Leo bent over and gave her a kiss on the lips. "Don't make me worry like that. I felt your powers shift, and that is what woke me up. What did you wind up doing? I know that Ketan was the one that brought you back. What did you give to him?"
“There’s a kind of time travel in letters, isn’t there? I imagine you laughing at my small joke; I imagine you groaning; I imagine you throwing my words away. Do I have you still? Do I address empty air and the flies that will eat this carcass? You could leave me for five years, you could return never—and I have to write the rest of this not knowing.”
