Chapitre 2: He's really Hated by [Almost] Everyone

"These are the ones that have failed. Marjohn, Sylvie and" she silently sighed and continued "Rin."

When Ma'am Hanna already called out the names: Marjohn and Sylvie, all the other students sighed in relief because they already knew who was the third one and knew that it wasn't them.

"These three people stand up."

The three slowly stood up. Marjohn was a bit of a delinquent but he was still respecting Ma'am Hanna and he was not different from other students in this matter. Sylvie was a pretty girl but she was wearing a facemask, hiding half of her face. Lastly, Rin, we all know him.

"Please tell me how you failed this exam?" Ma'am Hanna slowly said, "Is my teachings wrong?"

Sylvie immediately raised her arm and answered, "Of course not, Ma'am Hanna. I was just sick when you taught that lesson so I tested unprepared."

Ma'am Hanna squinted her eyes and asked, "Is that an excuse?"

Sylvie turned her head down and answered, "No Ma'am, it was my fault."

Ma'am Hanna was satisfied with her answer and nodded. Her eyes now fell upon the delinquent, Marjohn.

"Ah! Ummm…" Marjohn scratched his head and was unable to answer.

"Ok." Ma'am Hanna went through the test papers again without waiting for an answer from both Marjohn and Rin.

She picked a test paper and called out the owner's name, "Dana, stand up."

"Yes, Ma'am." A girl stood up, she was the class president. She also has a long black hair but different from Ma'am Hanna's beauty, she was instead cute. However, she has a cold expression on her face but this didn't make her less cuter.

Ma'am Hanna smiled and congratulated Dana for having the highest score. The whole class congratulated her too with a simple clap and smiles, nobody in the classroom didn't like her. Dana smiled and accepted it but she did not expect for Ma'am Hanna to asked something for her to do.

"Since you have the highest score and is the class president, can you teach these three?" Ma'am Hanna asked her this gently but has a domineering tone backing it "These three will retake the mock exam next week. Though I will be satisfied even if only two of them passes." She took a glance at Rin which made him uncomfortable.

Dana nodded and accepted Ma'am Hanna's request without hesitation.

"Good, now seat. We have to go through the lesson once again…"

Ma'am Hanna revised all the answers on the mock exam and carefully went through where most students got it wrong. As expected of a respected teacher. In a matter of an hour, the majority of the students fully understand the lesson.

Ding! Ding! Ding!* the bell rang once again.

The following subjects were dull and boring with normal lessons and lecture but since the exam is near, every student couldn't afford to ignore a passage of text or even doze off.

Rin was writing everything he see and everything he hears from the teacher so that when he got home, he would immerse himself in study. School became a book to him.

When the last subject in the morning ended, the annoying bell resounded in the school grounds again.

Rin looked calm and have an easy-going aura surrounding him but inside his head was a mess. Although he did understand some of the lesson but it take him torture to comprehend it all.

He was not new to this situation that he could relax. Rest is a necessity so if there is a break, take full advantage of it!

He took out his lunch out of his bag. While preparing his lunch, a girl figure stood beside him. Of course Rin would notice it but decided to ignore it, thinking 'I don't even have any friends and a girl on top of that.'

To avoid getting the embarrassment, he continued to ignore the girl.

'Maybe she's not here for me.' He thought of that until he heard some murmurs surrounding the class. Eyes fell on him again.

"Why is he ignoring Dana?"

"He's just a loser and he dares to do that?!"

"He's really annoying. Dana made her way to let him notice her but he didn't react…"

"What an idiot…"

"Stupid wimp…"

'Wait, all those harsh words can only describe me.' He slowly lifted his head and saw his cute and smart classmate, Dana staring at him if not glaring 'I made a mistake. No! I did not. I mean, why would she be just standing there and not saying anything! Ahhhh!! A wimp ignoring a popular girl will surely look arrogant and annoying!!'

"U-umm, y-yes?" Realizing what he had done, Rin slightly trembled that made his voice stutter.

"Damn, why is he stuttering?"

"He's seriously an eyesore."

The murmuring now became muttering. They truly felt that this man is annoying that it became a headache.

Ever seen a person and it already got on your nerve the first time you saw them even though they have not done anything wrong? If you see someone as obnoxious and irritating, everything they do would of course annoy you.

Dana on the other hand, continued to coldly stare at him, making Rin more and more anxious as seconds pass by.

The silence between them broke when Dana heaved a heavy sighed. Still with her cold eyes and aura, she said, "You really are annoying to others eyes."

Hearing this while not knowing if it is a criticism or something else, Rin immediately put down his head out of reflex. As usual, others voice strongly affected him. The words "annoying to others eyes." was continuously repeating in his head until he turned his head back after he noticed something.

Mustering his courage, though probably it wasn't because of that but because his curiosity got over him, he asked, "Others?? Are saying I'm not annoying in your eyes?"

He was prepared to take no as an answer but was shocked when the word he heard were, "No, rather, I don't feel annoyed."

Rin stared at Dana for a while, his eyes were already glittering. For the first time in many years, somebody other than his mother said something not bad to him.

Like a switch getting turned on, Rin's personal view to Dana took a 180° turn. He no longer felt uneasiness due to her usual coldness but now, he felt admiration. It may naïve for him to change his view by just a few words but he couldn't help it.

"What are you staring at?", Dana slightly tilted her head along with the question.

"Ahh!.. umm…umm… nothing.." Rin's eyes darted around like a rolling ball while he fidget his fingers crazily.

"Hmm… very… timid…", Dana slowly said with sharpness in her words.

"Eek!"

"You're a very weird guy… maybe that's the reason you're getting this much hate… Well, maybe because you also act like a huge nerdy sometimes but you are actually stupid." Dana said all of it without the intention of hurting Rin but he still did took a lot of damage from that. Without waiting for him to react, Dana continued, "Since you're stupid, you always fail almost all the test. That's why maybe Ms. Hannah had enough and appointed me to tutor you and just included the other two on a whim."

Rin couldn't rebuke and could only nod in agreement.
