40% Trusting Milo / Chapter 6: S I X

Chapitre 6: S I X

M I L O

I wasn't too thrilled to see her drinking. Not that I didn't want her to enjoy herself, I just didn't want her regretting anything. She didn't seem the type to drink, Vera confirmed that when she said it was her first time. But I'm here to take care of her so I don't mind if she let's loose, besides I think she needs this.

We played some games with the girls, munching on chips and downing a few beers. I could see Jake flirting with my baby sister. If you're wondering, I'm okay with it. I'd rather it be Jake than anyone else in this world considering I have known him so long, I trust him with everything in me. Tanner and Tyler were chatting up a storm with Em, giving Indie and I the chance to talk more.

I craved to hear her voice. It's like velvet and just rolls right off her lips elegantly. What intrigues me the most, is I can tell she doesn't know just how breath taking she really is.

And if we're being honest, it's one of the reasons I'm so attracted to her. Another one being that she looks like an angel. She's so easy to be happy around, and her laugh... fuck me. I groaned internally as I looked down at the little brown haired goddess. The things I could do to this girl...

Man the hell up and talk to her.

"Wanna get some fresh air?," I asked as she finished the last of her wine cooler.

She nodded and we walked out of the game room and down the hallway to the back yard. She gasped when we walked outside making me whip around, checking her for any injuries before noticing the awe plastered on her place.

She looked around at the fairy lights my sister had thrown about under the gazebo. "Wow," she whispered.

I couldn't help but smile at her being so easily fascinated. "Vera loves to decorate," I said. She looked at me and her eyes sparkled in pure happiness. "It's beautiful, Milo," she replied softly. My heart almost leapt right out of my chest when I heard her say my name. I would've handed her the world on a silver platter of she'd ask me to, without a second thought.

Wanting to take her under the lights, I took her small hand in mine. Sparks ignited all up my arm. I know she felt it too because she yanked out of my hold within a split second, which in turn made me frown.

I barely know her and she has me wrapped around her little finger.

"I won't bite mi amor." I said as I held my hand back out, already missing the feel of her soft skin.

She looked at me hesitantly for a moment but thankfully decided to accept my offer. I let her place her hand in mine this time, remembering how my mom told me to be patient and gentle. When she did though, the sparks came back again making me uncontrollably smile.

I looked down at her and she was staring at our hands as she walked beside me, a smile forming on her plump lips. I could feel her trembling a bit the closer we got. Was she nervous? Or was she cold? What if she didn't like holding my hand? What if my hands are too rough? I was racking my brain trying to figure out the answer without asking her. I was so lost in my thoughts, I didn't realize we were already standing under the wooden roof.

"This is so beautiful," she said after taking it all in.

I threw her my best smile, "not compared to you."

She smiled widely at me before shivering again. I would've asked if she wanted my jacket, but then I noticed the pink tint to her cheeks. She wasn't cold. She was nervous. Meaning, she definitely felt something with me.

I walked closer to her and pushed a few strands behind her ear, my hand brushed against her cheek and I could feel the heat radiating off of it. My actions caused her to become even more anxious as she began to bite on her lower lip. I almost took her right there.

I tugged at her bottom lip, releasing her hold on it, before whispering in her ear. "I won't be able to control myself if you do that, hermosa."

I watched as her eyes widened and her blush increased. "S-Sorry," she said while dropping her gaze to the floor. I couldn't help but chuckle. She is too fucking adorable and she's all mine.

As if on queue, Tyler called out letting us know it was movie time. She giggled at me when I muttered a few colorful words, making my heart thunder in my chest. We walked back with our smiles on full display. She thanked me for taking her out back while we walked towards the living room. My reply was simple, "anything for you." I didn't have to look at her to know she was already blushing again.

We joined the others and got comfortable before turning on Guardian's of the Galaxy. I didn't want to push her into being right next to me, but I didn't want to be sitting this close to her without her being in my arms either. Thinking of a game plan, I noticed she was hugging herself for warmth. With that opening in mind, I motioned for Em to toss me a blanket.

"Are you cold?," I asked her, already knowing she was. I held up the blanket when she looked at me, showing her I could assist.

She looked like she was debating with herself on what she should do. I tilted my head, motioning her to scoot closer. Again, I'm trying to give her the option so I don't scare her off.

She smiled sheepishly but moved right next to me, leaving little space. Involuntarily, I wrapped my arm around her shoulder. I thought she would have moved or said something, but to my surprise, she rested her head on my arm and cuddled into the blanket.

Half way into the movie, her breathing began to even out. I looked down to see her fast asleep on my arms. I brushed her hair back and kissed her temple, making her stir a little. I winced, hoping I hadn't woken her up. Luck was on my side because she stayed sleeping.

Everyone else was beginning to fall asleep towards the end of the movie. Feeling my eyelids become heavy, I thought about the girl who captivated me, hoping to spend more time with her tomorrow.

I'm not sure of the time when we were all awakened by a piercing scream. Tanner and I already had our guns out, pointing at various spots in the living room before realizing the screams were coming from Indie.

"What's wrong with her, Milo?!," Vera cried out. We've never witnessed something like this. She was thrashing around on the couch, her face was twisted in agony as tears spilled down her sweet face, her hair was matted to her forehead due to excessive sweating. Her screams were making my heart shatter.

I shook her softly trying to wake her but not wanting to hurt her. I hadn't noticed how skinny she was until I felt my hand practically swallowing her arm whole. After a few seconds, her eyes shot open and she sat up, breathing heavily and trembling.

Tyler rushed in with a glass of water, handing it to me as she looked around frantically.

"Indie, it's me, Milo. You're okay baby girl," I cooed, trying to calm her.

Who is she searching for?

When she looked back at me, I saw numerous amounts of emotions flash in her lifeless eyes; fear, panic, pain, and then relief. I let out a breath I didn't know I was holding in, proud to know I could make her feel safe.

"Indie... is this... is this normal for you?," my sister questioned.

I shot her a glare, warning her not to push too much. My attention was brought back when I heard mi ángel sobbing. My heart literally couldn't stand this.

"I-I'm so-so-sorry," she cried out.

I watched the scene unfold, noticing my own men had worry and pain written on their faces. None of us liked seeing her this way. It was gut wrenching.

"Oh honey, please do not apologize. Everyone has nightmares. Yours was just much more intense than we've ever experienced and to be truthful, we're worried about you... we want to help Indie..." Vera told her. I was truly proud of my sister for being such a good person.

She continued to cry until she fell back asleep in my arms. Instinctively, I tightened my hold on her while laying my face in the crook of her neck.

I'm going to find out what the hell has happened to my girl.

After a little while longer when we deemed she was going to be okay, everyone else went back to sleep. I wanted to do the same, but my mind was on full alert. I glanced over at the clock to see that it was only 3 in the morning. I fought with myself until the darkness finally washed over me.
