'Please choose your term of endearment!' (System)
"System, when it looks like I'm in a state of intense excitement can you please not interrupt me! I was so excited about you and now all that excitement has disappeared. Anyway, set my name as Harry." (Harry)
'I understand User I will do so from now on.' (System)
'Beep! Identity confirmed, user: Harry, confirming that the status has been revised from human to Harry!' (System)
"I wonder if everything is the same as in the book?" (Harry)
Closing the Status menu, I go and press the Abilities button and in front of me appears a shop with many different abilities as well as three different filtering options, 'Skill Type', 'Talent Type' and 'Bloodline Type'.
Setting the filter to Bloodline Abilities, I see that everything that was in the book is here too.
Sharingan (one tomoe): 1,000 Ability pts; (two tomoe) : 3000 Ability pts; (three tomoe) : 10,000 Ability pts; (mangekyo, kaleidoscope) : 100,000 Ability pts; (eternal mangekyo) : 500,000 Ability pts
Rinnegan: 1 million Ability pts
True Ancestor: 500,000 Ability pts
The excitement from seeing such great abilities quickly dwindles as I see the required points. It might be easy for the original MC to get so many points and become a True Ancestor in the world he was in but how the hell am I going to be able to get some many points on earth when there's literally nothing but people.
Quickly checking the other two filters he quickly understands that the same abilities are there.
Talents;
Vector change (lvl 1) : 500 Ability pts; (lv 2): 1000 Ability pts; (lv 3) : 5000 Ability pts; (lv 4) : 50000; (lv 5) : 500,000 Ability pts
Flame contract: 300,000 Ability pts
Mystic Eyes of Death Perception: 1 mil Ability pts
Skills;
Ice dou qi: 10k Ability pts
Dark dou qi: 10k Ability pts
Holy magic: 100k Ability pts
Dusk magic: 100k Ability pts
Undead magic: 100k Ability pts
(A/N: I only showed the ones that were shown in the first chapter of the original since I still need to figure out what the values of stuff I want to add later should be)
Just as before I get excited and it goes away as I see the points required for everything. If I remember correctly, abilities which can be learnt are classified as skills, those which can't be learned through practice are talents and those which are gotten through the blood of your parents are classified as bloodlines. Also, you can't use two types of certain powers at the same time. For example, you can't use the Sharingan and the Mystic Eyes of Death Perception at the same time since they both require the use of your eyes.
According to the book, it seems I can only have one bloodline ability at a time as well. Luckily I can refund a Bloodline once I no longer need it.
Before I continue on checking the others I need to change something.
"System, Is it possible from now on to abbreviate the points as AP for Ability pts, EP for Equipment pts and so on for the rest?" (Harry)
'Affirmative, Upgrading System...48%...92%...System Upgraded! Equipment pts has been replaced with EP, Item pts has been replaced with IP, Ability pts has been replaced with AP and Summoning pts has been replaced with SP!' (System)
"Thank's System!" (Harry)
Checking out the Equipment and Items sections I see that they both have a wide majority of Selections with Equipment being singled down to things that can either be used as a weapon or worn as an armour piece with the items being everything else ranging from consumables to house decorations.
I quickly press the button labelled summons and quickly gaze through some of the options.
Hatsune Miku: SP 5,000
Black Rock Shooter: SP 10,000
Ikaros: SP 100,000
Seeing just a few of those prices makes me get depressed at how long it would take just to get one summon. More importantly, I wonder why there are only female characters able to be summoned and then a thought comes to my mind. The thought is of the single anime character that I hold affections for and would willingly say is my waifu if I was asked.
Tohsaka Rin (Fate/Stay Night): SP 10,000
Tohsaka Rin (Ishtar): SP 100,000
Tohsaka Rin (Ereshkigal): SP 100,000
Tohsaka Rin (Fate/Zero): SP 5,000
I found quite a few but four different versions of Tohsaka Rin stood out. I'm not interested in the Fate/Zero Rin since although it's the cheapest unlike the original MC I'm not all that interested in Loli's. Even though Ishtar and Ereshkigal are strong they have completely different personalities from the original so they're a no. That leaves me with the final choice of the rin from fate/stay night.
"I guess I need to kill 10,000 cockroaches now or something stupid like that." (Harry)
'User, instead of killing 10,000 cockroaches, you can try completing some missions instead!' (System)
"I completely forgot about the mission system. System is it possible to add a button on the board to show me the missions available?" (Harry)
'Affirmative, Upgrading System...22%...58%...81%...System Upgraded! A button for the Mission system has been added!' (System)
I return to the original menu and see that in addition to the original five buttons, there's now a button labelled 'Missions'. I click it to go to check out the missions.
Hunting mission: Pest Massacre!
Mission 1: Kill 10,000 Cockroaches

"System... You purposefully set the SP for the cockroaches at half the amount I was saying just before, didn't you? Also whats with that Devil's mission? Are you trying to make a joke? Because if you are, it's not very funny." (Harry)
'Yes User, I did it on purpose. Devil's mission? What's that? Eh? That shouldn't be there. Wait, I can't remove it?' (System)
"..." (Harry)
'...' (System)
"Well anyway. I remember that in the novel the original got a starter pack with 10,000 IP, EP, AP and- and SP! I get the points right? Especially the SP! All 10,000 SP!" (Harry)
'Beep! Due to being excessively weak, User has got a new mission!' (System)
Depressed that I couldn't summon 'that' person so easily, I quickly glance back to the mission list to look at the newly added mission.
Wealth Mission: Become Rich!
Mission 1: Double or Nothing
Description: Double your current savings to start your journey to become rich!

"Wait $200? Since when? Now I remember, it was earlier wasn't it? Mother, you just made my life harder. Well, Guess it's time for the Casino." (Harry)
(A/N: The first few chapters of the book will probably be a bit information heavy. I'll try to lesson the information later and spread the important stuff over many chapters)
I've realised how hard it is to flesh out a characters personality through this chapter.
I know Endless Path:Infinite Cosmos does a good job at that. Think he said he studied psychology which probably has something to do with it.
Thought for a good 1 second and decided I wont study psychology just for this book. Not right now anyway.
Maybe later...
Anyway, Hope you enjoyed the chapter :)
