Chapitre 8: Reaper
Damn, this is f**ked up,
I wish I could just wake up and pretend nothing even happened,
but i don't even think I'll ever forget what just happened, i felt like I had just committed murder, killing my first dog, who would have thought something like this would ever happen then Mr X suddenly said,
" Stop your crying and continue the mission ",
right, I forget what I was here for,
I stood up with blood covered hands and watched as a door opened due to fangs blood as some kind of sacrifice, whatever just hurry up and get outta here is what I kept on telling myself as I walked in.
Within the door, the insides were no different from a cave. The ceiling was so low I had to crunch down in order to go through and at the end of the cave was a totally different world!!.
This was a world where everything had no colour at all apart from a light blue texture. It was a forest with lots of trees but no sun, I saw different animals even some people, they all looked natural apart from there eyes being hollow, which gave me the creeps, luckily I was not minded by them but I noticed I had the same light blue texture as them.
Then Mr X spoke suddenly and quickly saying
" don't go around enjoying the view, right now were are in purgatory, through the use of fangs soul as a guide we have successfully entered the world between life and death, NOW HURRY UP AND GET THE FLOWER BEFORE THE REAPER FINDS YOU!!"
I then said " Wait am in purgatory?, the world between life and death?, REAPER??!!!",
with a quick reply Mr X said
" yes and if you don't hurry, the reaper will take your soul to the underworld!! "
Am in deep sh*t right now, hurriedly, I ran around looking for the flame flower as Mr X directed me.
Then suddenly, I stop and see... Fang's soul drifting about and he looked at me and quickly flew over, still as happy and playful as usual, seemingly not holding any grudges against me, then Mr X's annoying voice interrupted our moment and he said
" Too bad for this dog, this attitude will easily make the reaper notice him and take him to hell, so leave the damn thing and get the flower or you'll join him"
I then asked " how do I prevent the reaper from taking Fang's soul to hell"
then Mr X explained that if Fang can stay away from the reaper for some time, he's soul will automatically ascend to heaven but if it was a human being, he/she would either get dragged to hell by the reaper or ascend and get judged whether to go to heaven or hell.
So I decided to stay and protect Fang until he ascends, so I took the flower and kept it in a box Mr X gave me back at the mansion and I sat down on the ground and played with Fang and decided to stay with him until he ascends.
Not too long after, I saw Fang growling at a direction, I followed his gaze to see a man with a burnt black face wearing a long black robe holding a sickle and laughing maniacally as he grabbed random souls, stuffing them into a bag and his gaze turned towards me.
He suddenly stopped laughing and just smiled and said "What do I have here, another one? , this is two in a row, well the more the better" ,
I was confused, what did he mean by another one, was there someone like me here before? and if so what happened to that person, I shrugged it off and focused on what was in front of me, I stood up and noticed fang started fading away, I was glad, this was the least I could do for him after what I had done.
I looked straight at the reaper and brought out my sword
" Oh, a feisty one, I haven't seen one like you in decades, you'll do well in hell "
said the reaper as he started laughing maniacally again, then Mr X's voice sounded in my ear saying
" you know the reaper is immortal right?, just run away now!!, or you'll go to hell"
and then I replied firmly
" Not until Fang is done ascending"
i balanced myself and focused on the reaper who waved his giant sickle at me, and with a fierce stomp forward i blocked his attack, with another swing I was attacked continuously luckily dodging all his attacks, in a few moments Fang ascended. I guess its time to go, with a loud shout I screamed
" David!!! "
but nothing happened, then Mr X's voice resonated in my ear saying
" are you stupid?, how do you expect me to get you back from purgatory, go through the cave you came from then I can get you" .
The reaper was startled by the sudden screaming and I used the opportunity to make a run for it, the reaper didn't even move as i ran and just said " I don't have time for this, COME TO ME MY SLAVES AND FETCH ME THAT SOUL" ,
I didn't understand what he meant but suddenly, three tall big wild dogs appeared and began to chase me and then i remembered
'HELLHOUNDS'
In folklore these were the harbingers of death used to drag souls to hell. Why was my luck this bad, I ran towards the cave, crunched down and ran through, then immediately the doors were closed all I could here was growling and barking at the other side of the door.
Finally safe, then I turn around only to see a figure standing right behind me.
David room(outside David's dream)
Lucas was no longer afraid as long as he had the holy water that he got from the church some days ago by his side he felt safe.
Az still laid there, in chains, looking like someone whose been through hell due to all the interrogation done on him by Lucas.
Lucas had figured out, that his brother David was in a dream state where his soul has left his body which was still confusing, but what he couldn't figure was where his brother's soul had gone to.
He had interrogated Az seriously but it seems that even Az doesn't know where his brother's soul is but all he confirm is that his brother is definitely not dead.
Another case he needed to figure out was, why the holy water so potent, even the demon Az was surprised, and why was this given to them by the priest,
'if I remember right we never asked him for any holy water but he kept on insisting, maybe he knows something, I will ask him about it maybe he could help'.
Lucas picked up his jacket, stood up, inspected the chains one more time and went out to go and find priest Matthew.
