Chapitre 2: Reborn

Drip.

Drip.

Drip

An ominous dripping sound woke Brandon. As he began waking up, he felt an odd pressure pushing down on him, constricting him. He tried, and failed, to open his eyes as he came fully awake, his mind awash with confusion.

Drip.

Drip.

Drip.

A wave of memories invaded him as he tried to understand where he was and what was happening.

He was an international package delivery man, Brandon concentrated on his mind and vaguely remembered having been changing radio stations and hearing a loud squeal and seeing the truck in front of him about to hit his.

The last thing Brandon could remember was a wave of pain he felt in his chest, and then as the sudden darkness engulfed him.

Drip.

Drip.

Drip.

"I feel very heavy." He told himself while he could only observe total darkness around him.

Drip.

Drip.

Drip.

The dripping sound continued for a few minutes while Brandon struggled against his own laziness.

After a few more minutes of being on the floor Brandon tried to stand up against the wall to use it for support and At that moment the memories of touching his chest and feeling that strange hole in the Brandon returned to the full reality remembering that He had been attacked and that he was falling into a dark void.

Through this, Brandon determined that he had no longer had a healthy body because of the fall and the attack.

Drip.

Drip.

Drip.

Brandon, looking around him, could see light from him, as if it were an entrance to that dark place he was in at that moment.

The entrance seemed near and far at the same time because Brandon could not move very well and his eyesight was completely red, as if he had blood in his eyes.

In an attempt to take a step forward Brandon felt how all the strength of his body vanished making him fall and his vision slowly became more and more narrow.

Drip.

Drip.

Drip.

Brandon began to feel some discomfort when he heard the same sound over and over again and nothing more.

A long time after resting on the floor Brandon began to feel how his body began to respond to him again and how his arms came back to have strength in them.

Brandon with his body now responding to him tried to examine his own body. He noticed that he did not have the same body as before, with an ironic smile on his head. It seemed to be some thin person who was very noticeable lack of food, with no distinctive features for the most part.

After a few minutes of effort, he reached the side of the entrance from where he was. Slowly he extended himself forward and when he came into contact with the light that came from the outside, he felt as if his flesh was being burned and watched as his hand was a strange skeletal arm covered with a thick black smoke which dissipated in contact. With the sunlight.

Brandon felt a horrible pain until after a few seconds that pain disappeared. His sense of touch seemed no longer to be present as well.

Brandon at that moment leaned back falling back to the ground, but now his vision allowed him to see where he had opened his eyes first.

Looking into the darkness Brandon could see a massive cave which was full of old wood boxes, burned books, human skeletons and hundreds of other things he could not identify, things he had never seen before in his life.

"I'm stuck here, it seems." Brandon was not able to get out of the cave since the sun seemed to be extremely dangerous against him and it is not as if he were a masochist who liked unnecessary pain.

Brandon remained calm despite watching a few skeletons in that dirty old cave.

Clink.

Clink.

Clink.

The dripping sound sounded again, continuously. Brandon finally focused on that, trying to figure out where it came from.

He focused on the sound, trying to concentrate on it. It was an abrupt and sharp dripping sound thanks to the great space of the cave and the silence of the tomb that was in it, but in that it happened with a normal frequency. The noise seemed to echo every time it appeared, which made it difficult to track it.

"Does it come from here?" The only thing in the cave to which he could trace the sound seemed to be a small well with water and over it. There was nothing but a dark ascending emptiness.

"I need to get out of this cave, I can not think of any good reason to get stuck in a cave, and going out is of the utmost importance, even with this body, I guess I'll have to take a chance." Talking about things in his head had always been It was a method he used to calm down and resolve things, but now it seemed to be the first time that Brandon thought illogically and not rationally since he had felt a horrible pain when leaving the cave when he came in contact with the sun.

He paused for a moment and then began to concentrate. He imagined himself stretching out of the cave into some nearby shadow. For some reason, moving felt and was natural to him while he was in that strange body.

Slowly, he began to walk inspecting the entrance and noticed that there were a couple of trees outside, but they were at a relatively long distance, a slight tension began to simmer within him. "I'm not going to die inside a damn cave, I have to think about something"

Brandon went back into the cave again and checked the place by any path that was inside the cave or something that would allow him to climb back where he had fallen.

The minutes passed and the tension became present more and more in the body of Brandon since he did not want to stay in that cave.

When looking for the cave he found an entrance, but the stairs were only going down, which only made him worry more since he wanted to get out of there and not go further down.

Without much more to think and without options he decided to go down the stairs, but as soon as he managed to put one foot on the first step he stumbled down the stairs until he reached the end of the stairs.

When falling down the stairs Brandon noticed that there was a strange red light coming from that long corridor until at the end of these there was a room fully illuminated with huge red crystals.

Brandon with the last of his strength crawled closer to a strange source of light where there was a strange symbol, something like a pentagram but much more complete and full of words, strangely his body was attracted and unable to deny that attraction that he was feeling, he crawled until he fell into that hole and lay on top of that symbol that was drawn on the ground.

THUMP.

A strange sensation entered into him at that moment making him feel increasingly hotter and hotter until a very loud voice was heard in that room.

YOU HAVE BEEN CREATED FROM MY MANA, BY YOUR LORD AND MASTER, THE GOD LEMUEL.

YOU, FIRSTBORN, WILL HOLD MY HIGHEST HOPES.

Brandon heard these words and smiled sarcastically and gave his opinion while he felt as his mind was dissipating, "I do not pay attention to anyone" Brandon at that moment faints slowly letting the darkness engulf him again.

MMMMMM.

THAT HAVE NEVER PASSED BEFORE, IT SEEMS THAT HIS BODY DENIES COMPLETELY MY CONTROL.

IT WILL BE INTERESTING TO SEE IT ACT FOR YOURSELF.

Brandon, dazed, woke up again, with faint echoes of pain pulling him as he looked around, extending his senses.

"I feel horrible," he said as he tried to stand up again.

It was still a strange, thin creature surrounded by thick black smoke. He was not already in that strange room full of red crystals. Instead, he discovered that he was sitting again in that dark cave lying on the ground.

"Where am I now?" What was that ridiculously loud voice saying? I am the 'Firstborn' He complained mentally, Brandon had become used to the strangeness of his current situation, due to role-playing in what many times The main mission was to go against legendary monsters or annoying gods, although he did not expect his character to be a strange creature that was weak in sunlight.

Still, in a state of temporary dizziness, Brandon came out of the cave walking out of it, by the time his senses returned he realized what he had done and launched himself immediately into the dark cave back.

"Huh, I do not feel pain?" Brandon realized that he no longer felt any pain against the sun and his body no longer weighed, standing up again. He decided to look for the stairs again in the cave only to find that they were no longer there.

"Hostile objectives detected, caution recommended"

Brandon He waited a moment to see if the voice was going to say anything else. When he remained silent, he tentatively issued a question using his mind.

"In what direction is the hostile creature?"

He received no response.

Dorian waited a few more moments. He then turned to focus within himself, figuring that if the voice was telling him to do something, it should be something possible.

Brandon scanned his own body as he did his surroundings, concentrating on himself. As he did so, he instantly noticed a strange dark stone on his chest, with hundreds of lines running all over his body. Those strange lines connected to his arms, legs and head.

A strange passing sensation was present in his head, and he immediately clung to that, focusing on that. As he did so, a torrent of knowledge rushed into his mind.

A voice began to speak inside his head.

"Hi, I'm Arbium, you can ask me any questions." The voice had a weak and feminine edge, and was soft to hear. "It like the tutorial assistant."

"I hope he does not start screaming "Hey listen" as a certain annoying character that was in an old game he had played a long time ago"

"Arbium, where am I now, what is this world?" the essential thing was to get information from where he was so his first question was obvious. He wanted to know more.

The small and calm voice began to speak again. "This world is called Zilch and is one of the 10,000 existing, its population of monsters is incredibly large so the humans of this world are relatively stronger than their counterparts of the others 9,999 available worlds, also humans are aggressive by nature against monsters so caution is recommended"

Brandon quickly understood the information received and in the process gained some information about where he was. Whatever was supposed to have happened inside the cave must erase his memories and enslave him, but this seemed to have failed. Maybe it was because he was the first, or maybe a random error of fate.

In any case, he was now free, and had no intention of being a slave to another person.

However, before he could think more about this, Brandon's thoughts stopped abruptly.

A strange humanoid creature appeared at the edge of Brandon's vision, bursting from the forest in front of him, attacking a deer. The creature was large, had a long body and was covered in dirt and its skin was green. His mouth was full of teeth and his saliva was dropping when he saw the dead deer on the ground.

"Is that a goblin?" Brandon said raising his voice causing this strange green humanoid creature to turn its head and watch him.

"Hostile objectives detected, caution recommended"
