"Alright bro, that's amazing. I'm so happy she's awake. Ha-ha, I think it's funny how she heard me say she'll be late for work. But if she's sleeping now we will not come. Plus, dad is sleeping now, and I want him to get some rest. We'll come early in the morning." Eyan replied to Alex's good news.
"See you guys tomorrow bro." He hung up the call and walked back to the bed. He stood beside her and tenderly stared at her.
He made sure he saw her chest rise and fall before he relaxed.
"You've made me the happiest man again, honey." He whispered and lightly caressed her cheek.
Alex was not able to sleep because he was overly enlivened and did not want to miss her when she woke up again. He left her bedside and went to sit at the table to finish the work he had undertaken the day before.
Working caused the time to pass by quick. He did not go back to sleep so when Eyan, Sanua and Wan Bai came, he was still reading and signing documents.
"Good morning son, did Dr. Sean say anything? How is she?" Wan Bai strode to where he sat when they entered the room.
"Good morning dad, and everyone. Dr. Sean will be here in an hour for her daily checkup. Hopefully, she's awake and he can tell us more. She woke up last night and didn't recognize we were in the hospital. She acted confused and fussed about being late for work. I did recall hearing bro say that before he left last night. That means she heard you, Eyan." Alex chatted with them, relieved that his soulmate was only sleeping a few feet away from him.
"So, she did remember Eyan and you?" Sanua asked him.
"Well, she did seem to remember, but we can't be certain because she was so confused." He replied a bit worried.
"Papa, you're here as well?" Everyone in the room heard a soft and raspy voice speak. They turned to the bed and found Wan Bai holding Zunnie's hand.
"Ah, my pumpkin did I wake you? Papa Bai only wanted to hold your hand for a little while." Mr. Bai answered her as tears slowly began trickling down his wrinkled face.
"Papa, are you crying? Bro and San? You guys are all here." She started again with the questions.
Noticing that she was awake, Alex hurriedly went to call the nurses while the others spoke to her. This time the nurses were accompanied by Dr. Sean.
"Bonjour, Mrs. Zi you're finally awake? Nice to finally meet you. I'm Dr. Sean and these here are my nursing assistants. We have been taking care of you."
"Hello Dr. Sean, assistants…" Zunnie replied softly enough so they could hear and flashed them a weak smile.
Whilst the doctor spoke to Alex the nurses made Zunnie sat Zunnie up in bed. He recalled to the doctor what had happened between Zunnie and him last night.
After getting informed Dr. Sean brought his attention back to Zunnie.
He checked her vitals then spoke;
"Do you know where you are Mrs. Zi?"
"Yes, hospital. May I please have some water? My throat hurts."
"That's good; Nurse can we get our lovely patient some warm water." Dr. Sean instructed the nurse as per Zunnie's request then continued questioning her.
"Mrs. Zi do you recognize everyone in this room and can you tell me how you know them?"
"Alright; This is my papa and only brother Eyan, my best friend San we've been friends since childhood and my husband Alex. You and your nursing assistants I only just met." She moved her eyes to every person as she pointed them out.
Everyone in the room chuckled to her last sentence.
"Ha-ha, that's wonderful. Thank you, Mrs. Zi. I'm asking these questions because you hurt your head badly in a car accident. Do you remember that night?"
"Um..." She paused before she continued.
"Go on honey it's okay…" Alex urged her.
She smiled for him then spoke;
"The last thing I remembered that night was getting hit from behind by a car. Alex was driving, and I was worried, but the car slowed down. We continued driving but after a few miles, we suddenly got bumped into violently. That's all I remember."
Everyone was quiet as she spoke and when she stopped everyone lost in their thoughts, happy she had not forgotten anything.
"Mrs. Zi let me say this, you are a very brave and lucky lady. You remembered everything which is amazing, and your supportive family has been here every day with you. I will let you get some rest now. Later we will come back to get a full body CT scan and run some other test. So, get plenty of rest."
Dr. Sean pulled the family outside the room to speak to them. Sanua opted to remain in the room with Zunnie.
"Your family is blessed really lucky. I really thought she would have memory some complications. It's a miracle she is able to remember you and everything until the accident. Do continue to monitor her and let us know if she shows any signs of memory loss, or other complications. She can only eat soft foods, for now, please feed her nutritiously."
"Thank you, Dr. Sean." They all replied in unison causing the doctor to smile.
After saying goodbye and thanking the doctor they stepped back into the room. The family was one again.
Alex was so glad she had remembered them, that he forgot to call his family to tell them of the good news. He dialed the home phone and informed them then walked back to her side, his heart overflowing with love as if a burden had been lifted from his shoulder.

Happy readings. I appreciate you dearly xoxo
After getting home from the hospital room that Eyan Bai had dragged him to, Carson felt nauseous. He had tried his best to avoid seeing her like that but being friends with her brother had cost him.
Feeling sick to his stomach, he showered, grabbed a beer and walked to his home office. He turned on his computer and all three monitors lit up simultaneously. He browsed through the footage he had saved from his investigation and became angry.
He knew who was responsible for the accident, but he wanted to find her first before he could tell Eyan and Alex. His grip on the beer bottle tightened as he read the information on one of the computer screens.
Carson read the information then print it all. He placed it in an envelope and left it on the desk.
Tired from reading, he leaned back into the chair and closed his eyes. The image of Zunnie laying motionless in the hospital room flashed through his mind. The pain in his heart became unbearable as he thought of her.
Deep down he wanted her to forget everything that had happened. Maybe then he would have a chance to be with her.
'Is it okay if I think selfishly Zunnie Bai?' He thought to himself, his eyes still tightly shut.
'If she can't remember Alex, would she stay with him?' Carson continued wondering.
He had hacked into the hospital files and saw that the probability of her losing her memory was very high. Should she wake up and not remember Alex would that open a door for him and her?
Being in love with her for so long he had tried his best to not be rash with his feelings.
He became a mature and respectful man that would look good in her eyes. Yet still, Alex had beaten him to her heart. He cursed himself for not taking the initiative sooner. Even then, would she have rejected him as she had back in high school?
Although he wanted her to be the woman in his life, he really wanted her to not be diagnosed with amnesia. He combed his hand through his still moist hair and groaned inside.
"I wonder how I look in her eyes? Would she have loved me if I had pursued her? I guess I'll never know." He whispered to himself. The room was so quiet that if there was someone else they would have heard him.
Carson sighed picked up his phone and dialed Victoria's number.
"Carss it's been a while since you called. Do you miss me?" She spoke when she answered his call.
"I've been busy. I need a drinking buddy. What are you doing?"
"I actually just got back from America this morning. Want to go to RumCo? I heard they just added some items to the menu. I'll drive so you don't have to come to get me."
"Alright; then I'll meet you there in thirty minutes." He ended the call.
The truth is he didn't want to see her with his emotions in disarray. But after reading the information and seeing the photos, he had to verify what was in that folder. When did they meet? He had not invited her to any of their outings; so how did they become friends so quickly.
He knew that if he asked her over the phone he would not be able to tell if she was lying or not. Meeting her tonight gave him a chance to see if there was more to them that he had not seen or noticed.
Carson arrived at the bar at exactly eight. Victoria was already waiting for him.
"You must have been really bored at home that you're on time tonight." He said with a grin and sat in the chair opposite her.
"What can I say? I missed you and couldn't wait." She stuck her tongue out at him.
They had been friends for a while and even if Victoria had a spiteful trait, their friends had always been good.
They ordered food and drinks and while they waited he took the chance to asked her.
"Have you heard; Alex and his wife Zunnie got into an accident and now she's in a coma?"
"Yeah, I heard about it. What does that have to do with me?"
"Ah, did you not come back for Alex's heart. I know you also went to her workplace last year and what you did there. Don't lie tome Tori. Were you involved?"
"I'm glad she's in a coma. She humiliated me. She deserves what she got. But I know nothing about her accident. I know I'm vindictive at times, but I gave up on Alex when I heard he got married. And above that, there is someone else that I like. I gave up on him to be with that person."
"So, you're saying you have really moved on... I find that highly surprising." Carson replied, amused that she had found a new lover.
"Yes, we recently started dating. Although he's a few years older, what can I say? He brings out the best in me." She grinned at Carson like a foolish high school girl in love.
Carson had been stunned into silence by her revelation. He was happy she was not involved. He could see that she must be in love with the person she's talking about.
He did not ask her any more questions relating to the accident. They drank and ate until they were full.
As he watched her car drive off into the night, he could tell that she had changed. Who would have guessed that Christopher Rougé was such a heartthrob? Carson was happy for her. He felt better after meeting with her and deep in his heart, he wished her the uttermost happiness.
However, he did get an answer to one of the many questions flooding his mind. How did Tami Rougé and Victoria come to know each other?
Hey Hey Hey,
Happy Chapter 100.
