Dr Scott then told Ronnie how his life was in danger; due to the non-availability of his matching blood at the Hospital Blood Bank. Later, how his wife was the immediate potential donor available and how she donated her blood to save him at the right time.
Ronnie's grip on Jayne's fingers tightened.
Jayne was so nervously standing next to Ronnie. She badly wanted Dr Scott to shut his mouth and leave. She very well knew Ronnie would never tolerate this from her.
So, she plastered a fake smile and interrupted him, "Doctor, when can Ronnie go home?"
Ronnie knew her very well, "Doctor you please continue. You can answer her later."
Jayne pursed her lips. She badly wished the ground underneath swallowed her right away!
Dr Scott let out a playful smile and answered Jayne, "It's too early to tell that Mrs Ronnie. We'll keep monitoring him for a day or two and then let you know."
He now looked back at Ronnie and told him that she hadn't eaten anything since then. And that she needs to eat well to take care of herself. After that he left.
Ronnie's eyes emitted a dangerous aura which only Jayne understood. She awkwardly smiled. "Baby, I'll eat now…. Don't you worry!"
She picked up an apple from the bedside table to eat.
By then a nurse walked in with a medicinal tray, "Madam, Dr Scott has asked me to administer glucose for you. Please come with me."
"Oh no nurse! I'm not going anywhere. Please do it right here…" Jayne protested.
Ronnie gave a knowing look at his wife, "Please don't make this even more difficult for her, me and all of us here Jayne. Please go with her…"
"Nurse, can you please administer the glucose right here? I'll sit here and rest my hands on the bed. You can attach the IV dip to the stand and place it here next to me." She offered to explain.
The nurse had no option but to obey.
Even Ronnie gave up on convincing her.
When the inserted the needle into her vein, Jayne turned towards Ronnie. She was so close to him that she was just inches apart from him. With her eyes squeezed shut, she looked mesmerising in every way to Ronnie. He couldn't help but seal her lips with his.
Jayne went wide-eyed in astonishment with her pupils flared up. The sudden kiss wasn't something she expected.
The nurse turned to tell Jayne it was over. But on seeing the couple's intimate moment, she blushed and said, "Umm.. Mrs Ronnie, it's done… I'll be leaving first.." and she dashed out.
Jayne faintly heard it and thought, 'It's done? Really? But then, I didn't even realise the pain from the pricking of the needle.' Before she could sense it, the incision was made and the glucose began flowing from the I'VE dip into her body.
On the other side, Ronnie poured all his love and gratitude for his wife by kissing her. The kiss turned intense instantly.
After a long time, Ronnie pulled away from her.
Jayne's eyes were glossy by the end of it, her face was totally flushed, she gasped for air. She bit her lower lip in embarrassment and looked at the IV dip which was flowing into her body.
Ronnie giggled to see her flushed face.
Jayne looked up at Ronnie and scowled.
"Hey! It's only because of me you didn't realise the pain. Be thankful to your husband." Ronnie boasted.
By then there was a knock at the door and the entire family came in.
"Ron!" Caroline Roy came to her son with tear filled eyes.
"Mom! Relax! I'm totally fine now. Don't worry about me." Ronnie consoled his mother.
He continued, "I'm sorry to have worried all of you mom, dad…" He looked at all four of them.
He flashed his million dollar smile at all of them and everyone was instantly relaxed to see the usual, cheerful Ronnie. They all spoke for sometime.
They then turned towards Jayne.. They were relieved to see her getting treated.
"We'll keep waiting outside children. Let us know if you need anything!" Richard Roy said and they walked out with smiles and relief on their faces.
Ronnie's bed was quite wide enough to accommodate for the two of them. Ronnie motioned Jayne to sleep next to him. He slightly moved aside and let Jayne sleep next to him.
"This is home! Ah!" Jayne said with relief. A smile kept dancing on her lips when she hugged him and buried her head in his chest. She was careful enough to take care of her his wounds and her hand.
When the nurse walked in, she saw the couple in each others arms sleeping so lovingly. They looked so perfect even while sleeping.
The nurse herself was so overwhelmed, that her eyes moistened. She didn't disturb them. She closed the door behind her and left the room silently.
