Chapitre 8: TMSN - Chapter 8
I woke up to the smell of coffee and toast as Joy and Joe were working together to get breakfast together, laughing.
Groaning softly I sat up, stretching my stiff limbs, before moving to the dining table where Joy set a sitting for me, placing a freshly made coffee there for me as I sit down, smiling in thanks.
As we all sat down for breakfast, Joy and Joe were talking about her music class, while I sat there silently eating, not that I minded. I woke up in an introverted mood, I just wanted to be alone. Luckily it's Friday then no more school for a few days.
I quickly finished breakfast, nodding to Joy and Joe in thanks before getting up to have a shower and get changed.
Changing into a Sleeping With Sirens hoodie and black leggings with one leg pulled up above my cast before putting on black flats. But not before checking the fresh cuts, seeing none of them infected I put some concealer on them to hide them if my hoodie raises.
As I left the room and made my way to the front door and car, where Joy and Joe were waiting, with my bag along with them. I smiled in thanks.

As arrived at school we all did our standards goodbye, a fist bump from me to Joe and a hug and kiss from Joy and Joe, before getting out of the car and heading to our lockers then our classes.
Reaching our lockers, I leant against my locker while Joy sorted out her stuff.
"What you got?" I asked. Trying to sneak a peek at her timetable that's taped to her locker door.
"Maths than music, you?" She answered, getting the things that she required for those lessons.
"Photography than a free," I answered with a shrug, my first lessons were more laid back.
Joy nodded as she closed and locked her locker before following me to my class, she seemed to be a bit nervous which wasn't normal, so I knew she wanted to say something.
"You okay Joy?" I asked, looking at her from the corner of my eye.
"Maybe later, Shadow," she replied, I nodded in response, letting it go, I didn't want to push her too far.
"All good," I said, as we just reached my class.
"See you later," Joy said, giving me a quick hug before heading towards her class before the tardy bell rings in a few minutes.
As I sat down in my normal seat, Mrs Wine looked up from her laptop, probably doing the role as students arrived, I smiled at her softly, leaning back in my chair waiting for the rest of the class to get here so we can begin.

Halfway through class, we were allowed to leave and take some photos, sighing I moved to stand up, but Janette bet me, grabbing my crutches and holding them up for me in assistance.
"Thank you, Janette," I say, placing the camera's strap around my neck so I can move better.
"You're very much welcome," Janette replies mocking a low bow, "May I accompany you?"
"You may," I reply, giving a small laugh - she must be on something to act like this out of nowhere.
Smiling, Janette gabbed a camera for herself before we both left together to go find random objects to take photos of.

After a while I sat down on a random bench, resting after taking quite a few pictures and started watching Janette do her own thing, watching her technique with the camera and what she finds good enough to be captured in time.
Janette must've felt me watching her after a while and looked up at me smiling, giving a smile back in return I stood up, careful of the camera that hung around my neck and made my way to her.
"How's it going?" I asked, looking over her shoulder as she flicked through the photos she took, nodding in appreciation.
"Good, but it's missing something, you know. Maybe photoshop will help." She replied, I nodded again agreeing with her, photoshop is a lifesaver when it comes to photos, it's like makeup for photos.
Without another word we headed back to class, noticing the time as we looked at Janette's iPhone, checking the time.
As we sat I sat in my seat, Janette moved her stuff to the empty seat beside me as we began editing our photos.
Just as we saved the last of our edited photos the bell went signalling the end of the class, and the beginning of another. Smiling we went our separate ways.

As I made my way to a random picnic table outside, the crowd of other students thinned out as they all went to class. I sighed, taking a seat and relieving the pressure of my now sore leg and foot.
Plugging earphones into my phone and playing some music, while I pulled out my laptop, deciding to get some work done while I wait for Joy to be finished with her class.
After a while, I felt like I was being watched, looking up I looked around me trying to find the culprit, finally spotting the only person around. I smiled as they came closer and I noticed it was Mr White.
"Hello, Shadow, why didn't you come to my office?" He asked, taking a seat beside me as I paused and unplugged my earphones so I could hear him.
"Just wanted some fresh air and to spend some time alone, and you can be kinda distracting," I said matter of factly. Earning a chuckle from him.
"Well then. I must say I find you to be quite distracting too, in any and every way possible," He said, playing with the ends of my hair.
I looked up around us, thankful I chose a more secluded area of the school, the table we were sitting at was behind the school and half hidden by trees so no one could see us.
"Then I hope my absence helped you get your work done, Drew," I said, focusing all my attention back on him. He smiled at my response shaking his head slightly.
"Not as much as I would like, but that was because I was worried about you," He replied, moving to tuck my hair behind my ear, making me blush slightly at the action.
"Why are you here Drew? Not that I mind but you have work to do," I ask, fiddling with my nails, not quite meeting his eye.
"Can't I sit with a student?" He asked, "look at me Shadow," He said, placing a finger under my chin, lifting my face so I can look at him.
I give him a small smile, "Well you can, but is that all that I am to you, a student?" I asked slyly.
"Well I don't know are you," He asked rhetorically, before leaning in, I lean in meeting halfway into the kiss.
It was soft, gentle. Drew smiled as I responded to the kiss quickly, lips moving in sync.
But before it could get anywhere the bell went, splitting us up, I looked away, blushing, touching my now swollen lips, smiling.
"I'll see you later Shadow," Drew said, moving my head to face him again before pecking my lips, standing up, "until then."
I nodded in response before he left me to calm down before packing up my stuff and started walking to my locker to meet Joy.

After the break, which I spent with Joy walking around or sitting at a random table outside when we needed a break, talking about everything. It was relaxing, but I kept thinking back to the kiss I shared with Drew White.
When we arrived at our lockers, Joy just kept her laptop out while I added my maths textbook and a notebook to my bag before zipping it up and standing back up on the crutches properly.
Smiling at each other we made our way to my maths class as Joy had a free. We didn't talk as we walked, it was too loud to anyway with the crowds of students that filled the hallway as they headed towards their destinations.
I gave Joy a small hug before getting comfortable in my seat as everyone else filled in and Joy went who knows where.

As the bell rang for the end of class, everyone rushed out not wanting to stay in the classroom any longer while I lagged behind so I didn't get lost in the rush.
Standing up, I put everything back into my back and grabbed my crutches before leaving the classroom, to see Joy waiting patiently for me.
"Hey, how was class?" She asked as we walked towards our lockers as the hallway traffic thinned out.
"Slow and annoying," I replied rolling my eyes, while I'm alright with maths, the classes drag out and are boring.
"Of course," she said with a slight laugh.
As we got to our lockers, we just put all our stuff inside them so we didn't have to worry about them during the break.
While Joy went to the canteen to get our food I told her I was going to sit at the table around the back of the school hidden by trees.
After a while Joy found me with her wedges with sour cream and sweet chilli sauce and my potato cakes with gravy.
"Thank you," I say taking my food as she sits down before we both dig in.
"Anytime Shadow," she replied before we ate in silence getting lost in our thoughts.

At the end of the break which we just spent at the hidden table chatting, then agreeing that this would most likely be our new hang out place during the breaks and or frees since no one else ever came by.
As we got to our lockers, I grabbed my bag which only had my laptop in it, before putting in a pencil case and a notebook in it. While Joy grabbed her laptop with her notebooks and pencil case before closing and locking her locker as we headed towards our English class.

During the class, we just did our own work, being in the same room as Mr White after the kiss is distracting, we haven't talked about it since, haven't even seen each other.
By the end of the class, I barely got anything done, I was too busy sneaking glances at Mr White and thinking about the kiss.
At the end of the class Joy and I were the last ones to leave before heading towards our Aqua Marine class. Mr White didn't say anything to me during class, but he did keep looking at me and as we left, we caught each other's glances and he gave me a slight nod.
But something felt off with him, he had this quilty look on whenever we caught each other's glances. But there wasn't any time to ask what was wrong.

During Aqua Marine, since it was just a single lesson, we went down to the fish tanks and fed and measured them for the aquaculture part of the class.
The shed where the tanks were, tend to heat up really quick so I had to sit outside to cool down, it was frustrating since I wanted to contribute to the class, but I don't tend to do too well with heat, definitely with the bandage and the wounds, I didn't want to risk getting an infection or the bandage coming loose.

At the end of the day, Joy and I were the last people in school, bar the teachers because she wanted to wait until no one was around to tell me something important.
"So what's going on?" I asked, leaning against my locker, while Joy stood in front of me painfully obviously nervous.
"So, don't freak out Shadow, alright," Joy said, playing with her hands.
"Just tell me Joy, we need to get home," I said, getting agitated.
"Well, you know I love you and that I wouldn't do anything to make you angry or that hurts yo-" Joy started rambling before I cut her off, feeling the anger in me rise.
"Just spit it out Joy, for fuck's sake," I say, my voice rising.
"FINE! NATASHA SMORE IS BACK!" she yelled, "Sorry," she added, taking deep breaths.
"What?" I asked, getting even angrier, "What did you say, Joy?"
"Natasha Smore is back," Joy said slower and clearer.
I screamed and punched a random locker, putting a dent in it.
