Chapitre 12: Catastrophe: Backstabbers Part 2

---Catastrophe---

The door in the podium opens and a young man in the American coat enters. He walked towards the podium and turned on the microphone. He got the people's attention by clearing his throat.

"Good morning, students." He greets wonderfully.

I look outside the window to see the tree. An apple tree that looked so alone in that spot while raining. There's no other tree beside him. My thoughts go somewhere else while the Professor is talking. Marissa nudged me and I focused in front of me.

"In our subject, I got a little memorization and the most important thing is to participate. Talking, commenting, suggesting, and sharing ideas and thoughts is allowed. Just raise your hand so we could hear from you. I won't allow students that will sleep in my class or do their own business. The door at the back is always open for you to do it outside. Is everything clear here?" he asked. Students chorused as an agreement. And-Ohh… he sounds strict. "Do not worry, I won't judge anyone here because all of us are different."

"Sir," one of the active female students raised her hand.

"Yes, Miss Mora?" he asked with little professional smiles.

"By saying that all of us are different, are we freaks?" she asked. I sighed and rolled my eyes while they were laughing and that made him laugh too.

"You can say that. But the right term is unique." He told me.

So the General Psychology wasn't boring. I know the subject because I had been studying psychology since George is a Doctor who graduated as a psychologist but he chooses to be a Professor. The way that the Professor discussed wasn't boring. He makes it intense and interesting. He was all positive and full of wisdom. Plus, he was charming and girls can't take their eyes off him. Sure, he is also young and youthful.

I was about to leave the classroom but our professor called me and I turned to him. He walked towards me and stared at my eyes for a moment. I give no emotions or thoughts because he's like reading me—or inside my mind.

"Yes, Mr. Patterson?" I break the silence. He forced a smile at me.

"You can visit me at my office anytime. What about in your vacant time today? We can have coffee or some snacks."

"That is thoughtful, Mr. Patterson. But you aren't asking me for a date, isn't it?" I asked bluntly. He chuckled and tilted his head to the left while watching me with those charming smiles.

"No, Miss Canfield. Just for a consultation. Since everyone here thinks that you are Adhiti, my beloved sister, you can tell me everything or any concerns."

"That is so kind of you, Mr. Patterson. Now, the only thing that bothers me is you too thinking I was Adhiti, but the truth is. I am not her. I am Catastrophe Canfield who was born in England and got adopted by a British Professor."

He looked down for a while and faced me. He nods his head. He pulled something from his pocket and gave it to me. It is his phone number and he's giving it to me.

"Yes. I might think you are her, but I respect that you are not her too. However, I am a psychologist at the school and call me anytime for your concerns."

"Thank you." I nod my head and leave.

Marissa was still sitting on her chair where everybody was all out. She told me to go and so I did. I had walked a lot of steps but then I stopped and realized that I forgot something. I walk back to the room G-102 where the Psychology class is and stopped on the threshold to see Marissa and our Professor embracing each other where their lips are joined and moving with a passion. Is this another student-teacher relationship here?

He cupped her cheeks as they cut their passionate kiss.

"I told you not to take my subject."

"I'm sorry. I am just worried."

"We aren't supposed to do this since I am working here and you as a student here."

"Ricky, I am not a real student here..." she giggled as she wrapped her arms around him.

They looked adorable together and I can say that they are a perfect match. However, I just ignore them and walk towards my desk and pick my phone on the drawer under my table. They stopped what they are doing and moved away from each other.

"C-Catastrophe..." Marissa stammers. I looked directly at her where she is all red. "It-It's not what you think!"

"What do you think I was thinking?" I asked her and she flushed even more.

"Th-That—"

"Maris, don't worry about that. I am sure Catastrophe doesn't care about what we are doing. Besides, she had adopted the attitude of an aspie. She minds her own business than people's." he told her to calm her for being so overwhelmed. "Am I right, C?" he asked me.

"Yes," I answered formally and turned back from them. I turn back and suddenly stop when my phone beeps and there's a message from Jake.

Hey C, please... let's see each other? I would like to meet at our favorite café shop. It was his message but the truth is it is not my favorite café shop it was his favorite. I hate drinking those not fresh fruits they are serving. It was a powder and not a real fruit one.

As soon as I left the room, I went to the lobby and I stopped to see the apple tree away. It looked so sad because she was alone in the rain. The lightning strikes somewhere on the mountain with tremendous thunder as it echoes around. I heard the squawking of a raven and instead of sitting on the apple tree, it chooses to sit on the statue of a lady with a snake around her on the fountain.

"Isn't it too chilly here?" Eliza asked me who was standing next to me.

"It was..." I murmur.

"It was chilly and yet you don't feel the chill anymore?" she asked. I nod my head.

"I suddenly feel nothing," I said monotonously. "Eliza," I called her name. After a moment she responded. "What does the lady symbolize and the snake too?"

I waited for her answer and it took a moment before she answered me.

"A disloyal woman was a snake."

Disloyal? If that's another word for a traitor, then the person who betrays me is a snake. At least that's what snakes resemble others.

"Have you ever felt betrayed?" I asked her for curiosity.

"Yes," she answered. "Everyone felt that way. Everyone felt that a snake had bitten them from behind."

"You are wrong." I turn to her. "Everyone is the snake, Eliza. That's what I observed."
