Chapitre 2: Encounter
I stood in front of the mirror, giving myself my best serious stare. 'Today will be different, you won't be that jumpy and quiet mouse that you were before. You've even put on lipstick! You. Are. A. Cat. Now!'
With that final prep talk in my head done, I grabbed my bag, kissed my parents goodbye and left the house. Pulling out my phone, I entered the school address into the navigation app, and began walking down the street, where the arrows were pointing towards school.
I stared at the screen as I walked, solely concentrating on making sure I'm going the right way. I left bright and early, just in case I might lose my way, so that I won't be late. As I looked up to check the surroundings, I saw myself walk right into a bright blue wall, with not even a millisecond to react.
My face rammed right into that wall and I rebounded, about to fall right onto my butt. Great, this is a fantastic start to my first day. I just hope no one saw me run into this... Wall... That did not feel very hard or rough like a wall...
That 'wall' suddenly moved and its hands reached out to grab my arm, steadying me from my would-have-been spectacular fall. "You okay?" The wall then asked, the hand that was on my arm pulling away.
Of course, by now, I obviously realized I ran into no wall, but an actual human being. But dazed as I was from the bump, the tip of my nose throbbing a little, I could only say, "It talks..."
A short "Huh?" from the 'wall' quickly snapped me back to reality and I immediately shook my head, half shouting "I am so sorry! I wasn't looking at where I was going and I thought I bumped into a wall but the wall suddenly moved and then I was falling but then I didn't fall and then you helped me and then I realized you weren't the wall I thought you were and then you asked me if I was okay and I was still kind of thinking wall and so --" I caught myself mid-ramble and abruptly stopped. I could literally feel my face heat up and I looked down at the floor, wanting a hole to open from right under me and swallow me up. "Sorry," I squeaked. So much for being a cat.
