Before leaving the Ivans store Dante fills the fourth and fifth page of his book with additional content namely [Skills/Abilities] and [Familiars].
To his own surprise and astonishment, both columns show already some additional text. Under [Skills/Abilities] it is revealed that he already possesses two skills [Dollmaking (Lv. max)] and [Puppetmaking (Lv. 4)].
-How did I get those two skills?...- He asks himself before remembering his experiences from his two previous descents. -Being Thanatos servants must have given me the [Dollmaking (Lv. max)] ability. Crocheting tormenting the guilty really had its hidden perks. That way I can explain how I got the [Puppetmaking (Lv. 4)] ability. The Alfar are really oppressed with the recreation of animals, living as one for a time must have earned me that one.-
The truly shocking and unexplainable revelation awaits Dante when looking into the [Familiars] section of the pages. There Dante reads while walking in the general direction of the eastern docks.

-How did she become my wife?- Dante thinks instantly trying to summon his enemy now apparently wife, only to feel a headache coming. -Shit, that hurts. Must be because I don't have any mana-
Smelling the fresh air from the lake, Dante unequips his gun, storing it in together with his lantern in his storage section and at long last closes his notebook.
As he slowly enters the eastern docking bay of Yharnam, the sight of the forest of masts in the distance, and the tall chimneys vomiting clouds of black smoke, and the many-colored flags flying in the air are assaulting his senses.
Creating most peculiar atmosphere are the sheds, with the monster wheels arching through the roofs, look like the paddle-boxes of huge steamers. Along the dock, Dante can see view men their faces sweating from carrying sacks and boxes into the warehouses that are built along the bay area.
Following the stream of people, Dante can see all kinds of people like a group of flaxen-haired small mean sailors, chattering around in their native language or a jötnar sailor with a cotton handkerchief twisted turban-like around his head.
After searching the bay for half an hour hr finally spots a Worthington scholar robe wearing man talking to a blue-smocked butcher, selling fresh meat and a bunch of cabbages in the tray on his shoulder. Following shortly afterward the scholar is a mate carrying a wooden cage.
Following the two people, Dante finally reaches his destination, that being open to all entrance test examination. Seeing the scholar and the man carrying the cage to join a large group of students and scholars of Worthington, he looks around to find the end of the queue of examines. Starting in front of a paddle steamer, where a banner reading is put up between two poles guarding the gangway connecting ship and pier Dante follows along the line to join the other examines.
Turning around and looking up he reads on a huge clocktower the time. -Puh, 11:55, just in time.- He thinks to wait in line like everybody else. Turning back around Dante begins checking out the Academy ship in more detail. With its 28 foot of hight (8.5 m), 105-foot length (32 m) the riverboat has three stories, the lowest currently used for the examination.
Looking up to the second story Dantes hearth stops beating for a moment. Upon the second floors railing, he can see his elder brother lazily talking to other students. It is not the unpleasant appearance of his brother that stops Dantes' heart, but the person behind Vincent.
Feeling a primal pain in his heart only one word raises through his head. -Mom.-
Seeing his mother, Elenor Elcraft wearing a humiliatingly short black mini dress with white ruffles that not only shows of her cleavage but also her long slender legs and a black&white collar and a hair band, Dante gets enraged. -I will get you out of their clutches and avenge every humiliation they had you endure.-
Unable to take his eyes of his beautiful dressed as a maid mother, Dante doesn't notice that he is already the next in line to be tested.
''Are you here to be tested or not?'' Asks me the examiner shouting.
Averting my eyes from my mother, I nod at the man and enter the ship.
''Don't make yourself self at home. You are most likely the next to be kicked out...'' Says the examiner that I only now recognize as the scholar that I followed to get here. ''... So you want to take the entrance test?''
Answering by simply nodding, Dante follows after the man to an examination table where he is asked. ''Name and age?''
''Dante Elcraft, five years.'' He answers the man, looking at the cage underneath the table.
''You are a bit too young but who cares. What counts is talent and skill... The name is Micah by the way...'' Micah tells Dante, noting down the information. ''... Normally I would have to answer your questions and advertise the academy to you, but seeing the large number of people to be examined, I will only do so after you have passed the test gotten a grate...''
Understanding his train of thought Dante simply once again nodes while Micah crouched down asking him. ''... Now, which animal do you want to make a puppet out of? Mice, Frog or Raven?''
Thinking about the complexity of the animals and the need to get a scholarship Dante answers, Micah. ''I will have the Raven.''
Surprised by the choice the examiner asks. ''Are you sure? Don't you want the less complex mice or frog? I have you know the Raven will have to be able to fly for you to pass the test.''
''I take the raven,'' Dante tells him showing a wicked smile while thinking. -Who would have thought that I would get the chance to experiment on your spirit animal Fortuna? Hahaha!-
''As you wish.'' Says Micah still crouching down and reaching into the cage. ''Snap!'' It sounds out from underneath before the examiner presents Dante the corps of a raven.
''Do I get any tools or instruments?'' Dante asks turning the dead bird on its back and spreading its wings
Smiling at him Micah asks. ''What do you need?''
''I would like three scalpels of different sizes, a pincer, a silver button, silver threads, soldering iron, a gimlet with a core drilling head, clear alcohol, scissors, needles, and cotton thread,'' Dante tells the examiner without looking up at the man. A servant that up to this point had merged with the surroundings nodes in understanding and goes away to get my order of instruments.
A bit puzzled Micah asks. ''Why the silver button and threads?''
''To program it to my liking and to stop the brain from deterioration over time,'' Dante tells Micah further examining the bird, noting a broken neck as the cause of death.
After few minutes Q&A the servant returns handing Dante the requested instruments.
''Thank you.'' Dante and Micah tell the servant simultaneously. Before the puppet making even begins, Dante cleans all instruments and his hands with the clear alcohol handed to him.
After that Dante uses the needles to nail the bird on to the exam table. Taking out his notebook from his waistband to have the freedom to move around freely, the five-year-old begins the process of puppet making.
In swift one might even describe artistic movements Dante slices into the raven, exposing muscles at first followed up by organs. His movement is so accurate and precise, that not only Micah but also the other examiners are attracted to the procedure.
After removing the bird's complete nervous system Dante replaces them with the silver threads before sewing the bird back together in a zigzag pattern. At long last Dante cuts the cotton threat and ties the ends together.
Removing the needles he places the bird on it feed to get full access to the head. By switching in between scalpels Dante removes very carefully all skin layers before finding the white skull underneath.
''Could you please hold the skull in place?'' He asks Micah while taking gimlet and attaching the drill to it.
Doing that Micah holds the birds head in place so that Dante is able to slowly drill into the skull using the core drill.
''Thanks.'' He tells the still dazed examiner while washing the still bloody pincer as well as some silver threats and the coin with alcohol.
Having done that Dante removes the rice corn sized thalamus before jamming stiff silver threads into the decaying brain. At first, each thread seems to be placed randomly until more than twenty-four threads are placed inside the brain and it becomes clear that each thread is hitting a different part of the brain. With all threads in place, Dante begins soldering the threads together and closing the open head with the silver coin.
Just before he is about to put the skin and feathers back in place the five-year-old reopens a wound on his index finger and lets three droplets of his blood fall onto the silver coin. Once again sewing the bird back together in a zigzag pattern, Dante completes his task by simply pressing the coin embedded in the bird's skull.
With a sudden scream, the raven comes to life, disrupting the unnatural silence that has taken over the riverboat. With a second scream, the raven flaps his wings and takes off.
Looking after the bird flying over the open lake Dante asks the still shell-shocked Micah. ''Did I pass?''
