Chapitre 224: Somehow special to Giselle

"I wish you know your place, Giselle."

Diego's words echoed within Giselle as she read Lillian's message for the hundredth time.

Diego is fighting for his love, unlike Giselle, who is only thinking about giving up. Also, Giselle responded to Diego, affirming that nothing is going on in between Lillian and herself.

Being harshly treated with his sharp words, Giselle could only aim to get separated from Lillian.

No longer can she dwell in her realm, secretly harboring her love for Lillian while playing the friendship card.

Giselle decides to put an end to this on-going facade.

Replying to Lillian's text, Giselle politely refused her invite, informing that she is busy working on her college application.

'This is the right thing to do.' – Giselle insisted.

Convincing herself that the chapter with Lillian should end soon so that both can live in peace. What Diego said is true, if Lillian ends up getting treated the same way as Giselle, then no one other than Giselle, herself, would feel worse.

She listened to Diego's words, slowly planning to disappear from Lillian's life forever.

**

Lillian, who is lounging in her room, receives the text return from Giselle. Although she was expecting an immediate response eagerly, Lillian couldn't contain the excitement to herself. Without wasting a second, she rushes to read.

Giselle courteously declined, appalling Lillian to her core.

'She- She- What will I do if she doesn't come out with me?'

When Lillian thought that her plan is going smooth, Giselle ruins it.

Not satisfied with her response, Lillian ignored texting and directly called Giselle.

**

Alarmed from the sudden buzzing, Giselle held the mobile in her hand, gawking at it while hesitating to answer the call. She flounders, not brave enough to respond.

Giselle knew that no matter what type of defensive mechanism she puts out, Lillian would smash it to the grounds, thus making it difficult to move on. Solely based on it, Giselle chose to ignore answering Lillian Grey.

Just like that, Lillian's call went unanswered.

**

Lillian frowns, from Giselle not picking up her call. She started feeling edgy naturally, getting ignored once.

'The first thing I'm going to do is to make a rule for Giselle to never ignore me; ever, and ever again!' - Lillian remarked while contacting Giselle again.

Who knew that the ringing sound could be damn haunting and a nerve-racking experience?

The second-time call also went unanswered, pulverizing Lillian's hope.

Now pissed off, Lillian right away called once again and ended up not getting ignored.

Veins in her forehead popped off while her brows creased together. Irritated to the max, Lillian threw her mobile on the bed and walked away.

**

Gigi finally decides to take a break and came out of her room for a change of scene.

While passing the hallway, she heard her mother calling out for Giselle.

Melanie's voice sounded faint from the distance. Gigi could only catch a few words.

Stopping in front of Giselle's room, she knocked twice and opened the door to find Giselle staring at her phone intensely. She appears undisturbed without moving a muscle. The only lively action that went was Giselle's eyeballs anxiously watching the mobile screen.

Gigi heard her mother's calling again.

"Mom, she can't hear you, what is up?" Gigi answers instead of her little sister.

"Gigi? Can you ask Giselle what she wants for dinner? I'm planning to cook you two's favorites," Melanie called from downstairs.

Gigi got excited from the knowledge that dinner's going to be their favorites. However, her mother didn't ask for Gigi's favorites.

"Then how come you aren't asking me?" Gigi raided immediately.

"Because, the braised chicken is in the oven already," Melanie replied.

"I love you, mom. You are the best."

Gigi yelled.

"Alright, now, ask Giselle?"

Gigi turned to Giselle and asked.

"Giselle, It's mommy's treat, what do you want to eat for dinner? Well, she is not exactly treating us, but you know she will cook anything we ask. You can chip in your favorites-," Gigi asks only to find Giselle still staring at her phone intently.

"What is she saying, Gigi?" Melanie's voice sounded again.

Gigi stutters, "Umm... Maybe Giselle wants Lillian Grey for dinner!" she uttered lowly, aiming only to reach her little sister.

The name startled Giselle as she looked up to see Gigi standing outside the room leisurely, with a wild smirk plastered on her face.

Realizing it soon, Giselle knew she got played by her sister, scoffing to her little trap, Giselle asks the purpose of Gigi's impromptu visit to her room.

Gigi informs that their mother has been requesting for Giselle the past few minutes. And that someone got too much indulged into her mobile instead of responding.

"So, something, something, is up with this Lillian Grey, I believe!" Gigi picked on her little sister, cheekily.

"Shut up," Giselle hushes Gigi from sounding loud, and walked passed her downstairs to meet her mother.

Gigi grinned from the tease and followed her sister right behind.

**

Running downstairs, Lillian looked for her father and found him seated on the dining table. Edwin worked on his accounts and receipts while hearing his daughter roar his name all around the house.

"What is it, Lilly?" Edwin called.

"Dad, you made some special food yesterday, right?"

"Special food?"

"More like special, rare dessert treats," Lillian explains.

Edwin recalled yesterday's menu and remembered it.

"You mean the basic chocolate chip cookies that I baked?" Diego exclaimed, knowing how a simple dessert considered exclusive and rare.

"Exactly!"

"It is nothing to be called special, Lilly," Edwin replies as he worked with the receipts, tallying the amount expenditures.

"Yours is special, dad. Now, can you wrap some cookies in a bag for me?" Lillian requested.

"Why? Are you going out to meet someone? Is it Anna or Diego?"

Edwin naturally recognized that Lillian is planning to meet her best friends.

"Dad, I know other people too. Plus, I ain't visiting Anna or Diego, this is someone else, special," Lillian admitted.

Removing his glasses, Edwin looked at his daughter. She sounded serious.

"Special! Is it your boyfriend?" Edwin assumes.

Lillian's eyes grew in an instant. She looks away and chuckles from the silly presumption.

"Dad! No, not a boyfriend. Stop asking me questions, and- Wait, I'll wrap those cookies myself."

Lillian said and fled the spot immediately, running away from her father. She did not expect him to ask so straight.

Lillian intruded the kitchen space and looked for a paper bag and searched the pantry for the cookies. She found then soon and started picking out the brightest out of the batch.

Watching her raid the tin of cookies, Lillian handle it rough. Edwin feared.

"Wait, wait, wait, you are going to crush it. Let me do it," Edwin replied and took her place.

He found a spatula nearby from the counter and picked out the cookies carefully. Lillian often commented on which ones she prefers for her takeout, and Edwin served her.

Edwin's movements were polished and gentle, unlike his daughter Lillian while tying the bag with a thread. If she did, then it would all get crumbled halfway in the process.

As Edwin carefully prepared the cookie bag, he couldn't help from questioning Lillian.

"Lilly, you know that you can tell me if you have a boyfriend,"

"Plus, you have been weird the past few days, smiling alone occasionally. What is going on?" Edwin inquired.

Instead of running away, this time, Lillian sincerely responded.

"I will tell you once I fix everything, dad, until then, you have to wait."

Surprised from her straightforward reply, Edwin only gave the nod. He gave her the neatly packed cookie bag. Lillian received it carefully.

"Thanks, Dad, bye. I'll return soon," she yelled while leaving the place.

Gigi and Melanie were in the kitchen. Gigi stood in front of the oven. Through the visible space, she watched the chicken cook so tenderly. Melanie stood in front of the stove and worked on her dish while they hear the doorbell ring.

Melanie asked Gigi to answer the door while she can't leave the spot at that moment.

Leaving the chicken alone in the oven, Gigi sighed heavily. She paced her steps to the front door and opened it.

"Talk about the timing!" – Gigi remarked out loud.

Lillian Grey stood facing Giselle's sister. Her face froze the minute she came into contact with Gigi. Blinking her greetings, she stuttered poorly.

"Come on in, Lillian Grey," Gigi invited her inside.

Lillian's lashes twitched from Gigi's stern voice and suspecting gaze. Although the icy glares seem to be on vacation right now, Lillian still felt anxious around Gigi. After all, she is Giselle's elder sister, which means that Lillian needs to establish safe-conduct with her.

"What's up?" Gigi asks. By now, Melanie came out of the kitchen to find a familiar girl. She recalled her but forgot her name.

"Lillian Grey, You can call me Lillian or even Lilly," Lillian expressed.

She then went on to gift the cookies. Melanie smiled and graciously accepted them.

"Where is Giselle? Can I meet her?" Lillian asks.

"She is in her room," Gigi replied.

"Do you want me to call her?" she added, inching her way to move, but got stopped by Lillian.

"I will see her myself. I want to surprise Giselle."

Lillian said with her sparkling eyes and subtle smirking.

The two allowed, and Lillian walked her way upstairs to meet Giselle.

Gigi watched Lillian exhibit a surprisingly different vibe from the last time meeting her. She seems to behave respectfully.

"Mom, keep a close eye on her. She is somehow special to Giselle."

Gigi states to shock Melanie.

"Is she someone Giselle likes?" the mother asked earnestly.

"..."

"I don't know anything. Don't look at me like that," Gigi escapes from the mother's watch.

Meanwhile, Melanie already noticed Lillian and kept following the girl until she disappears from the vision.

"Lillian seems like a good girl. She looks honest and bold," the mother commented.

"Is it?" Gigi asked in doubt.

'It looks like Mom already likes her. Good for you, Giselle!' – Gigi remarked.

..

Gigi is aware of Lillian Grey in her sister's life. The next day Gigi followed Giselle desperately to learn what happened the night she went out dashing.

Unable to escape from her sister, Giselle added the remaining pieces of the story, finally confessing that Lillian Grey is the first girl she ever loved.

Gigi appeared at loss of words from hearing it. She also learned that how much Lillian helped Giselle in the school and protected her safely from letting people badmouth her.

The impression of Lillian changed for Gigi as she held a bit of gratitude towards the girl for helping her sister. However, Giselle talked about that night, when Lillian behaved differently, Gigi exclaimed that chances are there for Lillian to reciprocate Giselle's feelings.

Giselle didn't believe, thinking that it was futile to develop hope. Nonetheless, Gigi believes that Lillian already fell for Giselle.

Who would leave their prom to meet a girl at late night and spend time with her?

There is only one conclusion, which is love.

Instead of arguing with Giselle, Gigi agreed to her sister's statement.

..

Now, seeing Lillian randomly appear to meet Giselle, Gigi recognized.

'I hope the two can settle it out soon and stop wasting time trifling openly .' – Gigi sighed.

Meanwhile, Melanie remembered leaving the dish still on the stove. She rushed back to the kitchen while Gigi remained in the living room.

Gigi remained in the living room, letting the two girls some private space.

'If things go well, are they getting married?' – Gigi wondered.

No matter what happens, Gigi wishes to stay by Giselle's side, hoping that she could do the same as Lillian, to help her sister.
