Arrival of the Artist’s Wedding

The day of Yujia's wedding was almost here.

It came faster than she imagined. At first, it felt like she would still have some time before getting married, but now that it was the evening before her planned wedding date — it finally dawned on her that it was really happening. 

She was going to tie the knot with Yu Zixu tomorrow.

Yujia was lying in bed, contemplating this very fact, when she heard a knock at her window. She imagined it to be just the wind rustling at a tree branch, but that was when the knock sounded again. This time, it was clear it wasn't just some tree branch.

Sitting up and pushing her blankets aside, Yujia fumbled in the darkness for a candle. Once she grabbed a lit candle, she pushed open the window the knock sounded at. 

Standing there, leaning his arms on the windowsill, was none other than Zixu himself.

A smile broke across Yujia's face. "I knew it wasn't Yufeng," she said in a hushed whisper.
