Chapitre 163: Weakest Core Member

Meanwhile, somewhere else at the southern borders of Wildergreene...

--- Glimmertree City ---

The city was smaller compared to Yellowleaf, with its population count only reaching around 50,000. The establishments just looked the same as with the other cities in Wildergreene.

Around the time Yale and Roasted Boar finished up their business in the places they went to, Boras Roselia, and Bloody Harvest arrived at this city. It was a bit strange how they got here from the eastern border of Wildergreene, where the guild hall was located. It would normally take 2-3 weeks for people from the eastern border to arrive here.

The reason why they got here so fast was because of a magic scroll Abyssal Angel gave them. The spell contained within the magic scroll was called 'Time Gate.' What it does was it slowed the flow of time around the one who used the scroll.

When Roselia, Boras, and Bloody Harvest traveled towards this city, it actually took them 2 weeks but the due to the Time Gate magic scroll, it seems like they only spent around 2 hours or something.

...

On the central area of Glimmertree City, where a gigantic treant with rainbow-colored leaves stood...

There were a lot of the locals and some tourists admiring the view.

"Guys, let's meet up here after we finish up crashing those towers Jay told us about." Bloody Harvest said as he looked at Roselia and Boras in front of him. After that, he disappeared into the shadows using Shadow's Embrace and moved on with the treasure hunt.

"Geez...I thought you two were lovebirds. What's up with that quick exit of his?" Boras said and shrugged.

"Shut up. It is none of your business, no offense." Roselia said with a trace of anger in her voice and she also decided to proceed with the treasure hunt and walked away.

Seeing that the two people who went with him just disappeared like that, Boras sighed and decided to go to the nearby adventurer's guild for now.

...

Glimmertree Adventurer's guild...

"Lady, I want to hire a guardian and a cleric. If possible, someone around the 5th tier." Boras said this to the receptionist of the adventurer's guild and handed over 3 gold coins.

"Please wait a moment." The receptionist said before she took out a booklet and gave it to Boras.

"Those are the adventurers that are available for hire right now sir."

Boras nodded his head and looked at the contents of the booklet. But after a few seconds of browsing the book, he sighed because almost all of the adventurer's listed on the booklet were all of the 4th tier and below. The only ones worth recruiting was a warrior of the 5th tier named Arthur, and a summoner of the 6th tier called Levi.

"Here, I want to recruit these two. And by the ways, do you allow your adventurers to be permanently recruited, or is it just temporary?" Boras said and asked the receptionist before handing over the booklet and highlighting the names of the adventurers he wanted to hire.

"Sir, we do allow permanent recruitment. But it costs three times more than the original price." The receptionist was about to tell Boras that it was not worth it to permanently hire adventurers due to their sense of freedom and did not want to be bound by some rules, but Boras suddenly forked out 9 gold coins.

"Have them come here this instant. I still have matters to attend to." Boras said and sat down on one of the benches provided by the adventurer's guild.

...

Around 5 minutes later, the two adventurers Boras hired arrived and approached him.

"Hi there!" A young boy who was probably 15 years old said as he scratched his head. He was wearing the usual green robes that mage apprentices wore. As for his facial features, he had a bowl cut and had a chubby face.

"Yo! You the one who hired us boss?" A middle-aged man with blond hair and a rounded beard said as he looked at Boras. This man was wearing a steel armor set that was lined with gold. His armor looked really imposing due to its luster and thickness.

"Hmm..." Boras was lost in thought for a while when he looked at the equipment of the adventurers he hired.

"Let's go. We still have a tower to crash." Boras said afterwards and led the two outside. After that, the three of them started their journey to wherever Boras was leading them.

...

While Boras traveled with the two adventurers towards a place called 'Arrowpeak Tower,' he asked them what their skills and spells are.

Arthur, the middle-aged man said that as a Tier 5 Warrior, he knows how to use three 5th tier skills, two 4th tier skills, and some other skills of the 3rd tier and below.

As for Levi, the 6th tier summoner, he only knew how to summon two types of monsters that were of the 6th tier. A Frostpaw Werebear and a Flaming Wyvern.

Boras also told them about how the 'battle plan' when they were inside the tower they were heading to.

"Arthur, focus on defense and crowd control. Just do your best to slow down the monsters. Levi, use your summons to protect our sides. As for me, I will do the rest."

...

After around 20 minutes of walking, the group arrived at a large tower. The tower had a cylindrical shape and its roof that was about 20-storeys high had an arrowhead shape. There were also thousands of arrows scattered around the ground near the tower, as if it was being besieged by some people, or monsters.

"Arrowpeak Tower. There are 20 floors we have to clear three times. I don't think tower crashing is possible..." Boras quickly thought of this the moment they arrived. The reason why he was not confident in crashing the tower was because he was just a Tier 4 gunner. If the core members of Golden Phoenix were to be ranked based on their power, Boras was probably the weakest of them all.

Just as the three of them were going to enter the tower...

"Hold it right there friends."

A large knight wearing a very thick steel armor that was jet black in color stopped them. Even thought this guy was just walking normally, due to the heaviness of his armor set, small tremors occurred.

"Why? Don't tell me you own this tower or something?" Boras said with a sarcastic look on his face.

"Not really. But a group of people arrived earlier and attempted the tower and they are still inside. As for the next group to enter, there are 4 groups queued. By the way, my group will be the next one to enter."

When Boras and co. heard this, they were not sure what to do now since Boras said that time was lacking. Since this was the case, Boras thought of something else but was not sure if it will work, but he tried it anyways.

"Hey, how many people are there in your group?" Boras asked the large knight wearing the thick armor.

"There are 5 of us, including me." The large knight replied.

"Mind if we join you? Levi here is a 6th tier summoner and Arthur is a 5th tier warrior. As for me, I am Boras, a 4th tier gunner and I have plenty of magic scrolls with me." Boras said and tried to be as enthusiastic as he can.

"Well... it's really not my decision to make. Let's just wait for my friends to come here before we make a vote if we should let you guys in our little group. By the way, the name's Ebonmare." After saying this and introducing himself, Ebonmare walked away from Boras and co.

"Just how heavy is that guy's armor?" Arthur asked himself the moment Ebonmare left. The small tremors from the ground was just really weird.
