Chapitre 25: Saving Mission (Part 5)
"Now then, COME TO PAPA!" Lucas closes his eyes tightly, waiting for the familiar pain again.
Silence...
After a few moments, nothing happens. Lucas open one of his eyes to take a peak, just to the plant rooted to the ground, not moving at all. 'Okay? So... I need to attack it? Why can't it give me a freaking quick death?!?' In a fit of rage, Lucas tossed the spear towards the plant.
*Swoosh* The spear made a perfect curve towards the plant, Lucas was shocked at the accuracy of his first throw. He always misses in archery and darts, this is the first time he aimed so well. However, he was more shocked at the next scene. Just as the spear is an inch away from the plant, one of the vines swings out to grab it and another one just slams down on the spear... *Kacha* The spear effortlessly broke into half.
'Ah~ That spear is expensive... Now then, what to do? Instead of stabbing me, there's a high possibility that I would be sliced into two without it drinking my blood... My blood may be poisonous, but it's not corrosive...'
Lucas stays there to observe those vines, as they went back to their original position and stays on the defense. After like around ten more minutes, the rabbits start to wake up. "What happened here? I only remembered being knocked out by a gas" One of the rabbits that just woke up says hazily.
"Hey! Ca...captain! Look! Those red vines... They formed such a big crystal already!" One of the rabbits near the plant opens his eyes in horror and starts to shuffle back. Those rabbits are definitely not foreign to those plants since they identify it immediately. "How? How did those plants get here? We need to evacuate this place immediately!" The so-called captain replied and gave orders immediately.
"Wait, Captain, look! There's only one plant alive, the rest is dried up on the ground! That guy there... I think he saved us, look at his shirt, he's pierced before and wounded. He must have been fighting those plants alone to save us!" Another rabbit replied weakly after smelling the blood in the air.
"Oi! Young lad! You ok? We need to leave now, you can move yeah?" The captain now changes his tone when talking to Lucas, in it carries a hint of respect.
"Yeah, don't worry about me, we need to kill that plant fast! Else it will harm others in the nests!" Lucas did not bother to look at the rabbits, his attention is solely focusing on the plant, in case it makes any sudden movements. He does not want to leave the plant alive since it may hurt Little Snow that's somewhere in the nest. Unknowingly, his speech made those rabbits felt more reverent towards him.
'This is a good guy, he cared for us even though he's not of our race. He is suited to be our king! I must fight alongside him!' This was the thought that circulates around all those rabbits' mind. They readied their horns at the plant and will attack once Lucas commands them to.
'They are pointing their horns at the plant, not me? Well, I guess it's cause those plants murdered some of their race. I will be safe for now, at least I won't be impaled by horns and vines at the same time.' Lucas's face displayed a wry smile.
