Chapitre 30: Found them
Looking at the setting sun, Will took a few deep breaths before heading down to a small drop that was close to flat ground.
As he walked Will thought of how to get Cecily out of danger.
Since he doesn't know their strength, he started to fall deep into thought.
With Will's strength starting to catch up to that of a level three melee fighter one would think that he is a level three melee fighter, right?
Not exactly, when one rises to a higher level, the quality of their body changes.
The change happens when they surpass their limits, since Will's body was weak in the first place, his body changed slightly at the cellular level from taking his potions.
That in turn raised his potential.
Even with his increase in physical strength, he hasn't reached the x8 limit he needs to hit to break into level three melee fighter.
Breaking through to level three melee fighter from level two melee fighter is increasingly difficult, for the natives of this world anyways.
For Will, he just needs to drink his potions or train his physical body to breakthrough without mana.
What was mentioned before is that the ranks for melee fighters are as such:
level 1 melee fighter: x2
level 2 melee fighter: x4
level 3 melee fighter: x8
level 4 melee fighter: x16
The sacred level: x2+ (the plus is for the fact that the sacred level cannot be measured like the mortal levels anymore)
The melee fighter levels are listed with simple information stating which level adds this much strength, in truth it doesn't consider the individuals mana capacity or ability to manipulate mana.
Those that use mana can temporarily boost their overall power by a maximum of four times, so at peak power a level one melee fighter actually has six times more strength than a normal person, not counting their body's natural talent and differences in physique.
Will doesn't have the luxury of using mana, so he is at a disadvantage for now, unless he makes the right potions and gains abilities from the ingredients, like his muscle power ability.
This gets to the point of the matter, Will has no idea if he can handle the kidnappers.
So he maintains high levels of vigilance as he started to follow a trail of fresh footprints.
Will walked on through the dense trees as the wet soil beneath his feet made squishing sounds with every step.
Thinking back to the climbing he had to do, he clenched his still bloody hands, wincing at the pain of his fingers.
He was glad his strength improved, otherwise he wouldn't have made either climbs.
With the sun setting in the west, he stopped as the footprints started to get denser, leaving three different sets of tracks, one deeper than the others.
'Must be the person that carried Cecily'
Looking at the footprints that appear to be that of an adult's, Will kept walking forward with a crouching posture, with as much caution as he could possibly muster.
As he walked through the increasingly growing shadows, he noticed wisps of smoke coming from a small valley.
He cautiously approached the small valley while paying close attention to the surroundings as he looked for alarms that could be set in the vicinity.
He didn't want to alert the three, who he would assume are high level experts.
It only took a few breaths of time to reach the borders of a small sized camp.
Sitting around a blazing fire, there were two middle aged men and a middle aged woman watching a chunk of meat roast in the fire as the figure of Cecily laying on the ground unconscious and tied in layers of rope could be seen.
Will's eyes flashed a white light as he started to observe them and the surroundings, he needed to find a way to save her without getting killed by the three kidnappers.
They had to be at least level four melee fighters to take Cecily down, so Will had to proceed with utmost caution.

I said last chapter that it would be the last short one, um, this is the last short chapter actually.
I didn't have enough planned to make this one reach a good length.
The next chapter though, there is enough planned to make that one a long chapter, and I WILL make sure I plan enough for my future chapters.
