Chapitre 79: New Start
The sun shone all over the city. Loraine was the first one that woke up. Not being able to hold her excitement, Loraine tried to wake up James, "James! James, wake up! The sun has risen already! We still have to do a lot of things… Wake up!"
Groggy, James opened up his eyes and looked outside of the window, to his surprise, the sun had just passed the horizon, and Loraine was already eager to wake him up. Feeling irritated by this James said, "The sun is just rising… Can't we sleep for a bit mo…"
Before James could finish his sentence, he got hit by a pillow. It was clear that Loraine was not as patient and therefore jokingly threw a pillow at James in order to wake him up. Not expecting this, James did not know how to react. Out of instinct he stood up and faced Loraine just to see a smiling face.
"See, you can wake up at this time. Now that you are awake, go get dressed! We still have tons of things to do!" Loraine said cheerfully.
Not being able to argue a lost battle, James gave up and did how he was ordered.
As the two got ready, they got downstairs to be greeted by the cheerfully inn owner. "Good morning love birds. I did not expect you two to wake up this early… or is it because you guys are excited to move into the city? I know that feeling, Valencia is the best city there is!"
Taken aback by this all, James wondered how someone could have this much energy so early in the morning. However in this case, he was alone. Loraine was also full of eagerness and excitement…
With that excitement Loraine approached the lady and said, "Yes! Yes we are! Well… I got a question. As a local of Valencia… and of course our lovely host… do you know a good place where we can apply for housing?"
The face of the woman saddened. However James could clearly see that this was more of an act. Having a fake sad face the woman replied, "Well, I will be sad to see such great customers leave." Right after those words, she brightened up again, "But then again, you guys will pay for a week, so that is all good… as for the place where you can apply for houses… let me think..."
Giving it a thought for a moment the woman continued, "Well if I remember correctly, old Edison is one of the trusted locals who has a lot of knowledge about the houses in the surrounding. He usually is working from the tanner 2 streets ahead." Wondering for a while the lady continued, "Well there is also the general store. I know that Alice, the store owner, has some houses available… you can also try there."
Changing subjects quickly the woman continued, "Anyway, that will all come later… for now, does my lovely couple want some breakfast?"
Showing her gratitude Loraine thanked the lady for the information she provided and agreed on having a breakfast before leaving out for the day. The only thing that James could wonder was how someone could be this good in managing a business. Before he even realized, the woman had already "sold" her breakfast menu to the couple. James was scared that she would even ask money for providing the information about the houses. However, he was in luck as this had not happened… yet.
During breakfast, the couple discussed their plans for what to do. There were many ideas that popped up, however the first and foremost thing was that they had to find a proper accommodation that they could call their own. For that right after breakfast they would leave to one of the two destinations.
Having discussed, Loraine preferred to support a female workforce. Therefore she was more willing to go to the general store. James argued that the more knowledge and trusted old man would be a better idea to start.
As the discussion continued, they finally decided to go to the general store. The argument that they might get discounts, when buying necessary items for their new home, if they approached the general store owner made a lot of sense. Therefore James had no choice but to agree on the argumentation.
Finally finishing up their breakfast, the couple left the inn and headed over to where the general store is located.
