There was one big difference between top ranked insane bosses and the other insane bosses of the same level. Each and every top ranked insane bosses have AOE skills which could easily dealt fatal damage to those of the same level as them. The other insane bosses didn't have those kind of skills.
In a sense, Zaramoth which was killed by Mays and Ria back in human continent posed higher danger level to his army compared to the line up of gold ranked insane bosses he currently faced right now, if only Romeo was not included in the equation. Romeo was after all a top ranked insane boss, one rank higher than Zaramoth even.
"Well then, enough talking. Those below level eighty team up and kill those ogres and black dragon. The other spirits focus on the other insane bosses.''
"Yes sir!"
All the spirits replied in unison.
"Ria, Hallel, four general and all my spirits with me. Our target, that decrepit old man."
With his finger pointed at Romeo, Mays finished giving out orders. For these weak unknown enemies, he had no need to take command of the whole battle. These spirits were intelligent enough to do so.
"Yes master!"
Mays's spirits were ready.
"Yes sir!"
So was the four generals of Ria.
"Hehe okay."
"Couldn't ask for anything better."
Both Ria and Hallel replied with a grin. It was obvious that they couldn't held themselves back any longer. They wanted to beat the opponent as soon as possible. With how strong they currently were, it would be easy for them to beat Romeo for sure.
As if it was arranged beforehand, all the tank class spirits rushed toward their target before they drove them away, leaving Mays's and his party at the same location. Their surrounding were now devoid of others, not even one extra spirits was there.
Romeo observed the group of people in front of him. Three godkin whose strength was at the early stage of gold ranked insane bosses with nine of their spirits whose prowess were just at the level of gold ranked intermediate bosses.
"Do you youngster think that you guys are enough to fight me?"
"More than enough indeed. Go and activate your domain, Ria, Hallel."
''Golden Domain!''
''Mystic Domain!''
Both domain appeared at almost the same time. Ria's pitch black darkness [Mystic Domain] and Hallel's shining yellow [Golden Domain] once again combined into the reddish orange domain. Both the wailing ghost and flying golden weapon which hovered all over the domain made a weird combination for the domain's decoration.
Romeo was still standing at the same exact spot as previously. He had no intention of even taking one step back from his location. He felt that it was a humiliation by itself if he was forced to do so when his opponents were not on par with him.
With a casual swing of his hand, the air surrounding him turn hotter by the second. Mays who was observing the fight knew right away that Romeo just activated his buff skills [Heat Armor]. Rather than fortifying his defense, that armor's main function was to burn his surrounding area, reducing the attack power and attack speed of his opponents.
''Void Thrust!''
''Shining Strike!''
One attack after another was executed by both Hallel and Ria. Romeo parried all those attack with ease at first but it changed as time passed. Those attack that would never posed any danger to him at first turned deadly over time. The spirits were all waiting behind Mays. None of them joined the fight since Mays had not given them the order yet.
After one minute, Mays nodded several times before he commanded the spirits to join in the fight. He planned on staying back and watched for now because Romeo was currently having a hard time in the fight. They exchanged attack back and forth and both side was in a stalemate. The combined attack of both Ria and Hallel was surprisingly effective against the old man.
"Life Regen!"
The first thing Aloha did was to cast the regeneration buff to Ria and Hallel. She felt the need to do so when she saw all the bruises and light injuries all over their body. In truth, that skill barely helped them but it was apparent that the bruises on their body healed at faster pace thanks to that buff.
"Fireball!"
"Ice Chain!"
"Earth Pillar!"
"Piercing Arrow!"
The spirits were eager to attack Romeo. They utilized their long ranged attack effectively as they tried to incur maximum damage toward Romeo without interrupting Hallel and Ria who fought at the front line.
Only Syaitona and Damia was hesitant in joining the fight. They were both melee fighter so they were afraid that they would disrupt the tempo if they suddenly joined in. They were not Mays. They couldn't easily adapt to the fighting tempo of others naturally.
Truth be told, Mays was not totally clear about the prowess of insane bosses in this world yet. This place was not a game. It was logical for there to be discrepancy between the fact from both place. What intrigued Mays most was the fact that this Romeo was actually way weaker than Kokakola whom he killed back then at the forest portal gate.
It might be because both Ria and Hallel was now five time stronger than normal or it might be because those mortal ranked exalt was literally way weaker than earth ranked or sky ranked but the fact in front of him proved that there was a clear difference in strength between them.
"You guys not joining the fun?"
Mays who noticed both Damia and Syaitona by his side asked in his usual tone.
"Sorry master but I don't think I have a role to play there."
Damia answered timidly. It was obvious since Ria was there in the fight. Ria was better in every aspect even before she was enhanced so there really was no place for her in that fight. If Ria couldn't keep up with the boss's attack, she might be needed as an off tank but the situation right now was totally under control.
"Err... I..."
"Nah, it's okay. I forgot that they were both enhanced and you can't possibly fit into their combo attack when there was clear difference in strength."
This was after all only the second time they fight with the help of Drasca's buff. Mays just realized that melee attackers couldn't possibly join the fight when the power difference of their teammate differed too much.
"Well then, just accompany me here and watch the fight I guess. Its fine since they got it in the bag already."
"Yes master."
----------------------------------
Half an hour passed since the time the fight between the spirits army and the attacking force of ogres and dragons started. The elves who gathered at the entrance of the palace were shocked senseless by the scene in front of them. The ogres and black dragons which were killing their kin mercilessly was now being slaughtered one after another.
Dozens of dead body were scattered all over the area. Even the gold ranked insane bosses were having a hard time fighting when they were surrounded by those spirits. With each commander of Ria's spirit led each small party of twelve, they easily controlled the situation without much trouble.
The hierarchy of Ria's spirits was simple. She was the top of the pyramid as the master followed by the four generals who were all second tier elite elementals. Behind them were the commander who was elites of third tier secondary elementals. Ria used to have more than thirty of them but some of them perished when they faced Shalala back then.
The rest of the spirits were all tier fourth spirits. They were the weakest tier spirits but with well equipped gear, they were still strong nonetheless. Against other intermediate boss, they could easily triumphed.
Only the group of gold ranked insane bosses possessed some power to fight with the party of spirits. Some of the gold ranked insane bosses already transformed into their real form spanning dozen of meters just to cope with their opponents.
"How... how in the world..."
Comel was speechless when she saw the scene. She couldn't comprehend what was happening even when everything was laid bare in front of her eyes.
Both Tomtom and Tintin were now in their sabertooth tiger form. They were as huge as a three storey building. Even with their real form, they were having a hard time fighting off the spirits surrounding them.
Every single one of the gold ranked insane bosses present was hard to deal with even for Comel. The two identical woman from AncientHydra Dukedom Cairy and Cairan was even stronger than her personally. She knew how strong they were as they clashed once years ago. What confused her the most was how these seemingly weak spirits could deal with beings stronger than them.
The other gold ranked insane bosses were not in good situation either. Oggy was only surrounded by one party of spirits as he was the weakest gold ranker present. Waliwa and Dadan from AshenWolf Dukedom got it the hardest. They were surrounded by more than thirty people each. It showed how strong they were.
As for Blue Dragon Empress Assym and King Hitam Cair, they were both in their dragon form hovering all over the battlefield. They were forced to flee by the spirits on land. Several mages and long range attacker focused their attention on them just to make sure they stayed out of the fight.
" They're winning."
"They easily killed the ogre and black dragons."
"They are strong."
"They're the army of godkins."
Whisper of astonishment and disbelief echoed all over. These elves were proud and arrogant. They wouldn't easily admit their inferiority. To them, only the strong deserved their admiration. This current scene in front of them broke their common sense. They had never heard of a situation where a group of intermediate bosses triumphed over insane bosses.
These elves didn't know who these people actually were. They only knew that their king had submitted to the godkins. This led to the current conjecture where the army fighting outside right now was the godkins.
"These people... They are... strong."
"They are indeed. It was a wise choice for Sikacak to surrender to them."
Princess Manissa who stood behind Comel was unsure of what word to use to describe the army in front of her. In truth, she herself knew that the fighting prowess of these people were all just at the level of gold ranked intermediate bosses. There was only one known gold ranked insane bosses among them and that person didn't even fight.
Even Comel couldn't refute that. Individually, she was without doubt stronger than any other soldier fighting outside the palace at the moment. But it was evident that these people could fight enemies which were stronger than them without losing.
Among the chaotic battlefield all over the city, there was one place which was gathering more and more attention from the masses. It was the center of the city where the area was now covered by a reddish orange sphere.
That sphere was quite large. It spanned almost two kilometre is size. Nobody dared to approach that area after countless merciless attack poured out from it occasionally. That sphere was the domain where the heated fight between Romeo and Mays's party was.
-------------------------------------
"Flame Dragon Breath!"
A huge flame pillar burst forward with insane speed. The source of that flame was none other than Romeo who was currently in his dragon form. He had injuries all over his body. That attack of his was easily evaded by both Hallel and Ria who was confronting him at close range.
Even until now, Mays still had not joined the fight. He was busy pondering about various things related to fighting power of in this world. Both Damia and Syaitona accompanied him on the sideline. The whole fight against Romeo was predictable as this dragon was considerably weak in comparison to other top ranked monster they faced so far.
"Not good enough, red lizard! Shield Bash!"
That shield was forced upward right under Romeo's chin making its mouth shut. The blazing flame from its mouth came to an abrupt stop because of that attack. Mays's eyes shone when he saw that. He once again acquired another important information just by observing the fight. A skill which was instantly casted back in the game could now be blocked if one was good enough. Ria's attack just proven that.
"Shining Slash! Golden Brilliance Blade!"
Hallel was totally into the fight. She attacked nonstop whenever she saw an opening. With the buff and support from the healer, her performance was even better than when she fought the demonic spawn before this. Both her and Ria was rampaging as if they owned the battlefield.
The Red Dragon King Romeo never expected that someone of high standing like himself would be cornered this badly. He tried his hardest just to evade the barrage of incoming attack focused on him. He barely had any chance to retaliate.
"Damn humans!"
Romeo bellowed in anger. He couldn't do anything else except for shouting. His attacks would be interrupted most of the time. He couldn't even leave the domain if he wanted to. He was totally forced into a corner.
"Shut up and die, lizard. Your time is up."
"That's right. It's your bad luck to have us as enemy, old fart."
As always, RIa's bad habit came up when she was in a heated fight. Her insulting word made the red dragon fumed but there was nothing he could do about it. The spirits were focused on their attack. Every single one of them were doing their best in attacking the dragon as they always did.
"Erm, good. Those two can even work together properly now."
Without the need to give command, Mays literally had no reason to be there inside the domain. He commented on the fight as he observed from the sideline. He thought that he would be forced to join in when Ria and the rest were cornered but once again his calculation failed him. Hallel had already accustomed herself with her new profound strength making her indomitable. Even Ria was now better at controlling her enhanced body albeit slower than Hallel.
Unlike Mays who observed every details of the fight, both Syaitona and Damia by his side often shifted their gaze toward Mays. They didn't say anything but Mays obviously noticed it. He didn't know if these two were eager to join in the fight or wanted to ask him about anything else but since they didn't say a word, Mays ignored them the whole time.
The fight outside of the domain was also approaching its climax. Most of the ogres and black dragon had been killed by the spirit army. There were several spirits who fell in this fight too but their number were few compared to the fallen ogres and black dragons.
Both King Hitam Cair and Blue Dragon Empress were now too high in the sky. None of the attack from the mages and range attacker could reach them as they hovered around the sky of Capital City. Even though they were both okay, their facial expression was grim.
"This can't continue. At this rate, our army will be decimated."
"I don't understand. How come these people could pressure us? They were clearly only at the level of intermediate bosses at best."
It was apparent that they couldn't comprehend the battle even when they observed the fight from the higher ground. It couldn't be helped though. They were strong. They always looked down upon the weak. They would never consider themselves as the prey. This was the main reason for their downfall.
"I don't understand either. Perhaps this is what they say the strength of humans."
"Strength of human? What is that?"
"I don't know for sure."
King Hitam Cair shook his dragon head.
"It was something I heard from survivors of the great war. Those weak human has this peculiar strength which made them able to kill opponents who was stronger than them."
"Strength... Of... Human..."
Upon listening to King Hitam Cair's explanation, the Blue Dragon Empress muttered those word slowly as if she was ingraining that information deep in her mind. The failure of this attack was proof enough that those word were real.
"These people are no normal human. I think they are without doubt those godkins which we often heard of."
King Hitam Cair added. He was quite sure of his assumption. Normal human couldn't defy logic like this. It was more believable if these people were the rumoured godkins.
These monsters never knew the reason why humans could do something like this. It was actually so simple even. Teamwork. A team of functional party member that consolidate and complimented each other which was always called a perfect party. There was no such term in the demon continent. Everyone in demon continent relied on their own fists. Even in a large community, there was no such things as parties of demi humans. A bunch or a group of dregs, yes, but a party, none.
Dukedoms in demon continents were divided by races. Elves only had archers and blade dancers. There were also minority class such as phantom assassins or seers but they were extremely rare. There was no way this kind of class could make a perfect party which complimented each other like human did.
Back in the game, this advantage was already visible even when there were limits to the number of participant for every dungeons. Now that this was a real world, that party limit handicap immediately disappeared. With a group of more than thirty elite people attacking a solo opponent, there was no way even for a top ranked insane bosses to survive that. These gold ranked insane bosses being suppressed by the spirits was an ironclad evident for this fact.
