Something could catch her off-guard, and Ririna knew that this was one of those things she expected to happen. Was this the reason why Eli kept on asking if she trusted him?
The man who saved her from the burning mansion on the Eastern Province was waiting for them outside the main room in the basement. He was leaning on the wall, with a cigarette on his right hand. The smoke coming from his cigarette made Ririna's nose twitch in irritation.
He gave a quick glance to Eli before turning to Ririna. His lips curled into a smile as if reminiscing something from the past.
"You…" Ririna didn't know what to say. Off all places, she never thought that she would meet him again here at her mother-in-law's place.
"You are late," Daniel grunted as he pushed himself away from the wall and buried his hands on the side pockets of his black trousers. "She's been waiting for you for almost an hour."
