From the birth of the universe, energy has been the building block for all living things. Marvelous creatures emerged one after another, each taking their place in the pyramid of life. Slowly through evolution and luck, certain creatures rose above the rest, becoming the masters of their domains. This was however unsustainable, a way of life with deep-seated flaws in its code that eventually lead to its own demise. As a result of these failures, a certain few emerged that dedicated their lives to understanding the mysteries of the world, replacing the old ways with the new. Future generations would know them as the great Sages of the past, the voyagers of the new world. But it was still for naught, since said Sages followed the steps of their predecessors, disappearing from the world due to unknown secrets. Two great eras conquered the universe, one known for its strength and the other for its wisdom. Both similar in their eventual failures. All of these events eventually lead to the greatest era the world has yet seen. Immortals rise from the misty plains of solitude, while devils emerge from hidden cliffs. Following their suit, the creatures of old reawaken and the Sages become reborn. A third era that will be the beginning of the end.

Creation. Never has there been a word that so perfectly exemplifies the desires of man. To create is to live, and to not so is to die. There is no greater purpose than such, which is why all beings chase after it like bees towards nectar, their souls captured by desire. From the epochs of life came beings of power, gods and devils who molded the will towards their whim, but there efforts were for not. Then came the ancient sages of ethereal temples, exemplified by their unparalleled wisdom, yet they came no closer to understanding the meaning behind this word. Some even questioned if creation was the true path towards enlightenment or merely a false light, merely to distract from the truth. These questions birthed the immortals and demons, polar opposites from another yet birth from the same seed. The truth and the false are merely the opposite sides of a coin, no different from yin and yang. Waiting to be discovered, for better or for worse.

The age of clairvoyance has ended. Enlightenment is merely a fixture of the past as the immortals bleed dry. The world has succumbed to hatred, even the devils have been lost in the pain they once desired so greatly. The fairies of the great ages have rusted through time, bygone is their once legendary beauty. The mad sages of temples of blindness are proven correct once more, that time is the eternal victor, destroying all that lies in its path. The past lays scars that the world can never forget, but hide as the world slowly awakens again.

Synopsis: The heavens have failed. Divine beasts rebel, the heavenly emperor is plagued with an incurable disease, and the devils have reawakened. In a small mountainside village, a middle-aged farmer gets access to a dao-shattering secret, whether he brings peace or ruin to the world no one knows. Is peace ever truly achievable? Only fate will tell.
