Good question. Blood awakening isn't that big of a deal when the rank is low, as the benefits are marginal. However the bloodline does build up over itself. However Bloodline is different, you suck up as many as you want, though many refrain from doing, as it has no benefits and only drawbacks. As for why he didn't wait to buy an Awakened bloodline? Truthfully it doesn't change anything. For example if a Dormant Rank Bloodline cost 1000, and an improved version of the same bloodline at Awakened cost 5000, then if he had brought the latter version, he would've had to pay 6000 anyway. UNLESS, he brought one of the fixed rank bloodlines, which are as I mentioned fixed in rank. No advancement at all. Hope that cleared up the confusion. Cultivation speed in the first volume is expected to start slow. The purpose is two fold: one to allow for the build up, to establish characters and give a brief glimpse of the world building; two to allow our MC a well deserved growth, with hardships and schemes I will be honest with you, I did not expect the first volume to stretch as long as it would. But after having written around 30 chapters and seeing the progress, I realised I was trying to fit a 300 chapter content into 100, so I stopped trying.
Some may unfortunately not. As dual cultivation is a resource, it can exchanged, wagered and whatnot. Business will remain business, but affection will be rewarded where it's due.
