So far I’m enjoying the story, but I can’t recall what most of the characters look like as there are so many introduced at once. Could you write a list of all important characters, their physical appearance, and a brief synopsis of who they are in relation to the story? Also it might help if you use the characters physical appearance to describe them briefly after you’ve initially introduced them. To clarify this is after you described their appearance. So writing something like, “The pink haired girl, lily, asked”. Not saying this better than what your doing but it might be something too consider.
What is a crown?
"Well, are we close...?" asked a different girl with purple hair, distinguished further by her dark, ash-brown skin and the fact she had two sets of ears. The two adorning the sides of her head were ordinary, at least by human standards, but she also had a pair of vestigial, jackal-like ears protruding from her crown, contrasting her twin brother, who only possessed human ears.

You can ignore my stars, I just wanted to say that the beginning feels extremely similar to what I call “The Novel’s Extra” genre. To be clear I haven’t read anything more than the first, few chapters, so don’t look into my review too deeply. Just personal preference.

My head cannon is that the uzumaki were expected to win, but multiple errors on their part enabled hostile forces a quick and decisive victory. Like black zestu sabotaging their defenses and planting spies.
Only a few know about this for now, but already the Hokage and the elders are discussing the futility of sending aid to allies. A necessary sacrifice for the village's survival! Konoha hasn't fully recovered from the first shinobi world war, and therefore losing forces in the impending Suna-Iwa war, in which Konoha might have to get involved as well, is not advisable and exposes the village to unnecessary risk.

Considering there’s a 20 year gap, I’m surprised that they haven’t recovered. Additionally, the Uzumaki-Konoha relations must be far worse than I expected if they aren’t even willing to provide superficial support for them

So far this is one of my favorite Mushoku Tensei fanfics. But unless you’ve finished the novels don’t read it as it spoils a lot for anime viewers. The story feels like it’s progressing well, however there are times when the author writes a detailed explanation of the magic system or what not that some may find boring or a bit too long. Personally, I’ve enjoyed reading their in-depth explanations. The MC doesn’t stand out for me, but I’ve enjoyed watching how his actions effect the original cast. In regards to the magic system, I liked the idea of being able to sense mana, but I’m not a fan of that fact that the MC could sense it while having such a low reserve of mana. If the mc had a massive supply of mana (like only a few months of magic training at 2), then I think It’d prefer that, but that just my personal preference. I’m also not a fan of the MC learning gravity magic early on as I feel that it makes him op. But otherwise, I really like it.
