Why do people always say this? It's actually so stupid. It's FANFICTION! Jesus, do people not understand? I've seen hundreds of messages similar to this. Until stated otherwise Cannon isn't a thing nor isn't it a thing. Characters automatically become whatever the author chooses them to become. They could keep the character "in character" or change it. It really is sad how people don't understand something so simple. I would say I'm sorry for the rant but I'm not. It's baffling how many people still don't understand this.
