Latest reading status: ch 21 The story starts out slow and only picks up at around ch 12. I'm glad I stuck around for this long; Though the FL, Keira's, passiveness can be frustrating to read, it's also understandable. Because her family's treatment conditioned her to be that way. From the get-go, the readers learn that she had an illness which led to her death. Basing from context, it's likely that this illness stemmed from her depression and the mental abuse she suffered during her lifetime. And rebirth won't instantly make that go away. So even when she's reborn, she'd still feel scared of her brother/s when they want her to be scared. And she'd still follow whatever her family wants her to do; It's a conditioned response. But her rebirth made her more open with her feelings. She's used to suppressing her emotions, and the people around her are used to her passiveness. So when she shows emotion, such as anger, these people are naturally taken aback. As some characters put it: Before, Keira's more like a robot. But now, she seems more human. I truly look forward to the FL's character development and how it will affect her relationship with other characters [img=update]
It's too soon to give a detailed review, as there are only 4 chapters so far. But the story is written in a first person POV, and has an omegaverse setting. It's an omega lady boss FL x alpha bodyguard ML. I clicked on this story mainly because the ML is a bodyguard, not a CEO 😂 But like most MLs in this type of genre, it's hinted that he has a mysterious background which is yet to be revealed by the author.
Latest reading status: ch 16 I'll start off by saying that the writing definitely needs to undergo proofreading & editing. There's the common typo, the pronoun mixups of he/she. And sometimes, "daughter" becomes "son", or "mother" becomes "daughter" – to name a few. That said, readers can still understand what's going on through context clues. So I would say this isn't as headache-inducing as some I've come across before. As for the story itself, Shen Yuan, the FL, learns she's been reborn through a dream. She also learns of how she lived miserably and died miserably after her marriage to the earl, Lu Chen. So she instead pursues the earl's fifth uncle, Lu Zhiyun, who actually loved her in her past life. In her current life, however, while she knows he's interested in her, she's uncertain if it goes beyond mere curiosity. It doesn't help that she's also an insecure person; She may be the eldest legitimate daughter of a marquis, but she grew up neglected by her father. This insecurity doesn't keep her from being aware of her strengths though; She knows she's beautiful, and thus uses her beauty to get the ML to like her. I like how she's proactive, but covert enough (given the time period), in her pursuit; Not knowing that the ML is already pursuing her himself. As for Lu Zhiyun, while he's the usual cold & hard-to-read type of ML, his feelings for the FL are plain to see for his subordinates & even a few others. The author lets the readers know early on what to expect with the story, so they can decide if they're fine with some elements or not before continuing. Some scenes may also cut off abruptly, but I like that the story doesn't drag out. Overall, I look forward to reading more of this story. Keep up the good work, author! [img=update]
Latest reading status: ch 10 The FL, An Nuan's, decision to marry anyone who's willing to be a substitute groom was indeed rash. But as she said, she knows herself, knows what her ex-fiancé would do, thus she resorted to such means. I like her decisiveness, that she's putting her foot down and ending the relationship for good. I also like how she isn't alone; She has family & friends who are genuinely on her side and wants her to be happy. It's refreshing, given that most stories I come across with a similar start have tons of betrayals 😅 In fact, the ML, Lin Xiao Feng, also has a supportive mom & friend. So far, I'm liking the relationships of these characters. Good first impression of ML, too. He seems sweet, and it's understandable why he told basically everyone BUT An Nuan his feelings for her. I'm rooting for him [img=recommend] Just 2 chapters in and I didn't expect to be so invested in the story as I am now. I'm the type who doesn't dare to read ongoing stories – in fear of being hooked only to meet a cliffhanger – but this story is very tempting 😆 Great work, author!
Latest reading status: ch 10 As can be read from the summary, the story is set in a world where magic exists. The human world, where non-magical people reside, doesn't know the existence of a magic world/community. It's where the MC, Rose Wyatt, came from. She's a witch, who's working as a secretary to a human boss. Though it's not yet clear how strong she is with her magic, one thing is for certain: she isn't motivated to learn things, despite how she could quickly do so with her magic. One thing I like about Rose is her frankness. There was one scene wherein her mentor said he doesn't like her boss because he's indecisive, only for Rose to reply that her boss pays her, so she likes him. That just amused me, for some reason 😆 I also didn't expect the ML, Asher, to find out Rose's secret so soon; So the tags didn't lie, the story really is fast-paced. Overall, I like what I've read so far 👍
Latest reading status: ch 6 A forewarning that I'm not familiar with the BL genre and its tropes; I'm honestly here for the FP, but I'd also like to leave a proper review while I'm at it. 🙂 The story's MC is naive and a bit of an airhead, but she's curious & adventurous. My first impression of ML is similarly endearing, which is a huge plus in my opinion; I've seen too many female lead stories wherein their ML have such difficult personalities, so this ML was refreshing to read. I hope when "the moment of truth" eventually comes, MC & ML's relationship won't take too much damage. Though it would be understandable if outside factors (the treaty between the two countries, for example) would affect their relationship to some degree. So far, the story's promising enough. Good work, author [img=recommend]
Latest reading status: ch 5 This is surprisingly well-written. 😮 I wonder if the author intentionally did not write a synopsis/summary? If so, I'll try to not give away too much info hehe. The story has a Chinese setting, with elements of fantasy & mystery. It's nice to see a villain where, even though everyone KNOWS he's the villain, they still can't touch him so easily. I don't know where the author plans to take the story, but just that fact alone amuses me. Great work, author! [img=recommend]
Latest reading status: ch 10 Reading this felt like I was reading a story wherein only the author and the characters in it are privy to what's going on. Like there's supposed to be a prequel that I should be reading first before jumping into this. 😅 Then again, it could be due to the fact there's only 10 chapters so far. That said, the story is interesting enough that it makes one look forward to more. It has a daring FL and a lovestruck ML. For those who like family drama, it appears that there'll be a lot of it to come, both from the FL & ML's side.
Sure 😀 It's actually shared first by user "Ac26Ac29". Title: 女配修改一个字,全员崩人 设了 (Direct google translate: "If the female supporting character changes one word, all the characters will be destroyed.") Author: 抓星星的羊 (Sheep Catching Stars) Hope this helps!
Latest reading status: ch 21 The story basically starts the same as others of this trope, and the FL, Abigail, hasn't been able to catch a break so far. But when it rains, it pours; I like how this aspect is realistic 👍 Also, it's nice to see a relatively big age gap between main leads every now and then. So far though, it seems the FL has more experience in romance than the ML, Sawyer – which makes me wonder as to the extent of ML's relationship with his childhood sweetheart from the synopsis.
