i think that Renner won't really think the king as a father or a king, even here where she is more sane (since there's no yandere stuff "yet"). she have sadistic tendency, but not because she is insane or yandere, but because she is frustrated about her life and kingdom. the proof is she did see the kingdom as her home and want it to improve it even when she didn't really like it. back to topic, why didn't she see him as a family? he says that politics is a MAN'S game. he basically said that she can't be involved because her gender. even in those time, even if the men usually hold the power, doesn't mean that women didn't or can't be involved in politics. like, seriously? what did he see her as? a decorations? a pawn to trade? he said that when she helped him before (proving that she is capable, even more than other noble to him) and securing a promise from him to NOT meddle in her marriage? she is a princess, a royalty! she HAS to participate in politics! he also about to taking back his promise, proving that he can be bent easily by other noble if they want. with that in mind, I'm sure that Renner won't think of him dearly.
