And Messi could've played for Spain. If he did that, while winning everything, would he be respected?

For me the two options are England and Croatia. If you want to win something soon, England is the best bet. Despite all of southgates flaws, he gets them to a 2022 quarter final against France where they really should've gone to extra time and back to back euro finals. Luka could be the difference. England have a lot of talent and potential future stars, mostly in attack sure but they don't really have a star left winger. Therefore, Luka has little competition in his preferred role. He is also raised there which of course means he has a big connection. Also you can pick a new manager for england within 3 years. Luka could also become the goat england player. Could have Bellingham convince him. Croatia is definitely on a downhill trajectory but they still get to the semi finals of the world cup, further than england and Portugal. They are good defensively and with him, that's enough to win a tournament. He has a strong connection to them through his mother which should tempt him more than Portugal. Portugal definitely have lots of potential but they kinda underperformed the last few tournaments, and there's no personal connection. Also there's leao at lw so someone needs to change positions. I get that playing with Ronaldo is tempting, but I think he should make his own mark and stand out through his achievements. He'll always be compared to Ronaldo if he plays for Portugal. Whatever you chose, I'm keen to see where this story goes.
