I totally agree with your opinion about Hiruzen. Although personally there are several things that I disagree with about how I handle it, such as the white fang, Naruto's situation. But it is true that in the end, he is a leader who knew how to handle things on his own, especially considering that he was suddenly named Hockage when Tobirama sacrificed himself. Many things that in the end, many decisions of his made Konoha emerge victorious. As a leader he did a good job with mistakes, yes, but no one is perfect.
