It's neidan originally turned into the 7th spirit ring for Ma Hongjun. Also, just because something has one element doesn't mean it can't have another. For example, the Dark Devilgod Tiger has at least the Evil, Lightning, and Wind attributes, pretty sure it has space, too.

So, it will indeed be poison type, but when he reawakens martial spirit into the Nine-Colored Hydra, it will be even more poisonous... however it may also have other secondary affinities, I haven't decided.

Well, I said previously that the techniques that he had in his first life couldn't be used because of the different type of energy and such, so he did use his knowledge though to improve tang sec techniques. And he won't be "useless" he just won't use Tang Sect techniques. If he does do that then Tang San will think, "hmm... reincarnator!" because there's no way he'd be able to learn the techniques. Lei Feng is working on making the techniques fit his martial spirit and when he finishes that, it won't be too obvious. Also, Lei Feng MAY be killing Tang San in Slaughter City... maybe.

Indeed; however, let's just say that strong martial spirits have longer names. For example, Jade Phosphor Serpent Emperor... versus Serpent. It has a different appeal... and there do exist legends of hydras with seven heads I believe? I could be wrong about that but still.
