The official wiki says nothing about the worms grade, though a select few grade 2 curses have high (human level) intelligence, all semi-grade 1 are intelligent. Simply put the worm who only knows how to say "Mommy... Hug me" gives me the feeling of a grade 2 at most, and that is only because of its "cursed technique", if having a bottomless stomach even is one or its just a physical speciality of it.
