I mean for katana not really since it has one edge while a claymore has so there is twice amount of manoeuvres you can do with a claymore than a katana, then again a ton of swords are basically useless since plate armor could block them entirely and the only way to kill someone with a sword is to plunge it in the gaps of the armour (this is why spears are way better in medieval warfare though nothing beats a hammer or mace)
