In first chapter this sentence: "If you want to get 5999 experience points in just a few days... you might as well go to bed early." suggests that mc knows how exp works only for him to not know how getting exp works in the second chapter, that's what I am poking fun at. You're trying to make sense of something that doesn't make sense. For all you know, author might not even thought that deeply about it, he wanted to explain to readers how his system works and without thinking made a simple mistake, that's how it is if you're writing without a proofreader.
