It's easy to read even with an elementary level of English. The characters are simple, there is no character development. it's silly to hope that you can fool people who are much more experienced than you with your acting.
Rikku's death is certainly sad, but isn't it bullshit that the only way to save your comrade is to sacrifice your own life? I don't think she should be doing this if you're not competent enough. Not to mention they didn't have that close of a relationship.
