"Stop puffing it out. Zero times any number is still zero, pointy ears." Count Sanaxis, not knowing when he had emerged from the Wizard's Notes and gotten out of Carly's storage ring, sat on her shoulder. He noticed Carly's action and shook his head, speaking his evaluation calmly and fairly.

I think, since he cares so much for Nephis, he would prefer she call him by his name, Sunny. However, he’s fine with Shadow.

"I would not. But you can call me Shadow."

Probably is was “Creepy” Sunny who greeted those Awakened.

[Not much is known about him, really. What we do know comes from a dozen Sleepers who were unfortunate enough to be sent to Godgrave last year. They were all rescued by a mysterious Saint and brought to a Citadel under his control. The Saint did not speak with them much, and was rather aloof. In fact, some of them even describe him as sinister and frightening.]

"Your soul, your body becoming a work of the great Wizard Heli, you should feel proud, or do you prefer being the little dog from earlier?" Wizard Heli smiled as he continued to provoke the maid's soul, relishing the sharper, more venomous curses emanating from her.

Bennett, however, glanced at the Chief Maid Fia, and the two exchanged a subtle look, keeping a certain distance from Lucien and the half-fairy.

“Murong Fu”…what is that?

However, thinking of the knowledge he had just received, he couldn't help but hold back a smile, planning to let Carly witness who the Wizard world's Murong Fu was.

"He went to Bone Mound three days ago, said he was going to seclude himself there!" Hanks's pudgy hands moved so quickly it was almost as if afterimages were visible. He snatched up the five Magic Stones from the table and, with his lips barely moving, conveyed the information softly to Lucien using spiritual power.

So, he did what he did best. He put his feelings aside, and got to work.

First, I am no “arbiter of morality,” but I do consider myself a decent human being (at least I try to be). As for being a “naive idealist” in a “savage world,” that’s a matter of perspective. I do believe in protecting what is mine, but imposing my beliefs on people who do not seek me harm? To intentionally harm others for selfish gain (which is what you are advocating with colonization) when other options are available, that I cannot condone. I do not believe myself to be better than any “Stone Age tribals” that need “civilizing”…those are pro-slavery & pro-Nazi sentiments, by the way; that there are others who are “less than” yourself and they need overseers to enlighten them. We’re not talking about seeking to set-up trade or seeking to spread knowledge, both of which could be beneficial for all. No, according to you (and your character Berenger), those Africans don’t know how to make the most use out of their raw materials, but you in your big, reincarnated brain do…so let’s just colonize and take by force, right? Why? Because you have guns and freaking can, sir. Rule by force; might is always right…that’s what you’re advocating here, let’s make no mistake. As for giving you one “logical reason,” ‘cause apparently being humane is an “emotional response,” why Berenger should invest decades of his time, countless resources, and blah, blah, blah…well, I guess I can point you to just about any anti-slavery/abolitionist writer (Frederick Douglass, William Lloyd Garrison, etc.), or even to the Magna Carta. I’m sure those writings would hold absolutely no sway over you (or Berenger), but the truth of the matter is that power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely. Only in a fictional novel would it not. Of course, another thought would be that Berenger does not know all…& neither do you, sir. Therefore, you both would do better to invest in educating yourselves and society, so all can move forward together as humanity. Given the background of this novel, that might mean Berenger and his family (& his people/kingdom) would continue advancing themselves for far longer, enabling them to stabally govern far longer (& hopefully, doing it ethically). This can all be done without raping a people’s culture, land, and resources “for the greater good.” Anyhow, I could go on, but I won’t (nor will I respond to any future response). Write what you will. Other than your fascist ideology, the book is quite engaging; although the age thing with Adela is really creepy (if you don’t mind, please make her grow up soon), but you do you.

Luckily for Berengar, he knew about the new world and the resource-rich regions of Africa, most of which were sparsely populated and posed no major threat to an advanced army like his own. After unifying his Empire, he would take advantage of his knowledge and lay claim to the best regions in the world for colonization. By the time the Byzantine Empire and the other powers realized the value of these regions, the critical areas would already be under German sovereignty.
