If I could make a recommendation for your rewrite, I would say make the world a little more AU. You can keep the GoM in Japan but if you go international again I would recommend adding many more GoM level characters so that you could potentially make a more interesting international arc.
I think it’s been about 7 years so the grand magic games in 9 months should be the one Natsu and the others participate in.
Honestly, the challenge of pulling the lowest guild up to the top sounded like something worth achieving and would be an adventure in of its own.
