I know it sounds like i have low self-esteem, but Killian is too sweet and charming person that enough makes me think such an idea. then your expectations towards this character is wrong . mc is clearly on survival mode who keeps her guard all the time(understandably so, nothing good happened in both her lives). how could you expect her to be all confident and daring all of a sudden ? the fact that she doesn't blame anyone means that she is so humbled down due to her circumstances that she is happy in the minimal care she is receiving. she is quite pitiful character and ml should do more than whatever attempts he is making for her... because it isn't enough
