This guy is an idiot. He knew from the beginning that Aizen is a master manipulator. Aizen is probably intentionally behaving in a way that appeals to the MC. At his root, Aizen is just an arrogant and cold blooded guy that thinks that anyone is inferior to him and only he can stand beyond the heavens.
