Experience is invisible and the level ups are basically practice something or get experience killing something and you'll get better at it, so essentially it's an elusive system that works much like real life
As the flames died down, the arrow that had been holding Raven finally gave in. Falling onto the charred corpses of the minotaurs still warm from the dead hellflames, he felt not pain but a deep sense of superiority. Crushing their corpses under his feet, he felt overjoyed having finally seen the entire horde dead.

"Can you please still wear one so we can have sex?" Gradually opening her eyes, she noticed a mix of shock and fear reflected in Amedith's eyes. Every orphan is given the last name Phordite as in A-Phrodite, after their goddess. It's a way to essentially mark them for life as the kingdom's property, at least that's what it was intended for under the reign of the last king
"Raven 'Phordite, Erika 'Phordite, Aria 'Phordite, Melicia 'Phordite, and Amedith 'Phordite, you're the first dukes and duchess to received the traitor's territory," gasps and roars of dissent chorused from the nobles' side, however, ignoring their banter, Milo continued with his decree. "For now, you're free of duty as landlords and landladies, the work shall be split with the other nobility in exchange for a portion of your land's harvest and taxes."

Like any other person who makes a deal with the devil. She's alive in flesh but the lack of soul makes her irredeemable, in short she's incapable of changing and will melt into oblivion once she dies instead of ending up in heaven, hell or purgatory
Her soul's status is unknown ,since it could've easily been devoured already
If it was Linkle then, let me clarify something. Tariyaan isn't really allowed to mine her body directly yet, only Linkle's dress that spirals up like a folded umbrella is what his slaves been chipping away at. But given that he's known to break deals and do whatever he wants, she wants her body back before eventually he finds a way to tear her body apart, either by convincing her to sell it to him or breaching the contract somehow.
She's getting desperate with how close she is to getting her body back, plus that encounter with Raven changed the two quite much.
