I think Axel is still alive. There's no way the author killed him just like that and in a horrible and gruesome way. If Axel is going to die, I think he would die a heroic way. I'm sure Dom and Hera got to him and saved him first. The chapter said that Silas didn't see his face, just his back so my guess is, they are hiding Alex and used a body double to trick Silas.

Axel, you are not going to die!! You better not die!! You are the self proclaimed vest uncle so you better not die! I still don't understand why you didn't just run into your brothers building but the story needs you!
