I know I was half joking. For the OTL(original time-line) DK jr was used but Nintendo dropped him, but this is a dude in an Alt past so I assumed he'd skip lost media characters such as Donkey Kong Jr and just use the infinitely more popular Diddy Kong
This game would be a fantastic continuation of the Donkey Kong legacy while offering a fresh twist. Instead of playing as Jumpman (Mario), players would now control Donkey Kong Jr., attempting to rescue his captured father from Mario, who was now the villain.

Hmmm maybe the next console should be a 32 bit system then if the NES is staying longer, skipping the Super NES. So this timelines console lineup could be the NES 8bit, the 32bit (presumably the PS1 or the NES-CD based off of the OG Prototype for backward compatibility), and then the PS2 would launch after the 2000s maybe 2002-03.
So, I'm so sorry, guys—it seems the 16-bit consoles will have to wait a while! I don't know when I'll start on them, but I'm trying my best! Even though I'm busy with work, I don't care—I've even started writing during my lunch breaks or staying late at fucking office to write! I hope I can continue this novel until it reaches 1,000 or 2,000 chapters! That's my dream!
