If you switch Ken's gender to female and can justify the interaction as normal, I would be with you. But in this case it's not. Gay's should not get a hall pass on inappropriate behaviour towards men. If it is inappropriate for a guy to do it to a girl, then it is inappropriate. We should stand together for gender equality.

1. What if the guy did not like the woman/girl or had a girlfriend, an upstanding guy would not respond positively in that case. You are just trying to pass off something inappropriate by victim blaming. Sexuality is personal and "no means no" whether it is a man or a woman. 2. I did not comment under any of your other posts (if you had posted), that talk about homophobia in this novel. I commented on this post only. Also I don't find any blatant homophobia in this novel. The main areas I see mentioning of gay people are when 'Ken' does not want to be misidentified as gay when he is actually straight. The world setting in this novel is not as gay supportive as it should be and if that was your complaint, I wholeheartedly agree with you. The setting seems closer to the situation of gay people in asian countries (I feel that these situations should improve and we should work towards a more inclusive society).
