yeah, this does seem kinda needlessly excessively cruel, I understand that these types of novels tend to have a kind of puritan human(chinese) superiority complex about them a lot of the time, and him wanting to cut out any future chaos or unrest in his territory, but thus ain't that, the beasts weren't even antagonistic, all they did was react, this all started cause Ye Kailing and them tried to kill the salamander dragon, and when they couldn't they started prepping for war ad evacuating civies, the beasts saw all this and came to the natural conclusion, and even then they only went for a show of force and asked for defined coexistence, didn't even attack until they fired literal magic cannons at them, the beasts just want to survive, and reasonably don't trust the humans so they wanted their own space, and now that they've all been detained, the bull just wants to make itself useful in exchange for it and it's species relative safety, if Su Han really wanted peace and stability for his territory, not to mention better benefits, he'd want to treat the useful intelligent beasts better, they've already learned they're place in the pecking order and his might, wouldn't giving them benefits that are easy for you, to warn their gratitude and trust, not to mention even better benefits for yourself, be the much smarter option? Like something as simple and cheap as a promise of safety in return for their cooperation and allegiance, or the promise of strengthening the bull's tribe(using the bull's own blood) if they do well, seems wildly better than this idiotic edgelord response, let alone the fact that if they do that the materials harvested from the bull tribe will only get better and more valuable, but now, the moment something big enough happens far away that Su Han has to summon the tree, I'll be surprised if theirs not an instant rebellion and riot on the beast's part in an vye to escape. you do know the second pet isn't actually called quiqui right? it's just tge awful ai translation glitch in out and replacing names and titles for some reason, it's actual name is little ghost, or guigui in chinese I think(litterally ghost ghost iirc)

Author please, I beg of you, let John or Neo or someone actually get rid of one of these insufferable bastards, we know they're not stronger than John or Neo, even with John being defensively focused and Neo being a 'cub', like you're story seems good, with the potential to he real good, but every random background character in the world having no sense of self preservation or common sense and practically feeling like its their life's mission to screw over the MCs or be as idiotic as is humanly possible, or somehow even moreso, and with never any consequences for it? It's incredibly stifling and unsatisfying, makes an otherwise good story feel forced and frustrated. If you wanna make a world were everyone's an absolute bastard who wants to ruin you for a slight benefit? that's fine, but it has to make sense, someone capable like John surviving to this point in a world like that wouldn't be such a soft persimmon, a short sighted bastard like Tom would need a miracle to live this long, even with his family's backing. It's honestly starting to feel like John's the transmigrator instead of Neo with how naive and ignorant he seems of his own world. The start was great and it feels like you have some interesting plans for the important characters, but they're constantly being dragged down by the minutiae and pacing.
