Capítulo 1: Background

My planet is beautiful. The trees are as pure as love, the wind as fresh clear water, and the water as beautiful as ever.

We call this planet Zecht Homeworld. We are one of the ten civilizations in my galaxy. My mother told me one day, I'll rule over the Zecht homeworld. She wasn't lying.

The day has come and I didn't feel I was ready. I just wanted freedom. To do what I wanted. To find true love instead of this arranged marriage my mother and father had for me. To me, It was the stupidest thing about this culture. About all the civilizations around us.

Our people are humans of course. We aren't some aliens you guys are probably thinking of.

My name is Azazi Aliz. I wouldn't be the most beautiful girl you've seen. I have pale skin, small eyes, and I'm average height for Zecht homeworld. That's about 5'9. When my birthday came, I'd turn twenty. Today I'd be crowned queen of Zecht homeworld and solar system. A solar system of humans with pale skin and black hair. Our eyes are a beautiful brown color that stood out from all the civilizations in the galaxy.

I know what you're thinking. I'm some woman looking for true love who doesn't want to be crowned queen of a civilization. You're right. But it wasn't originally my turn to rule.

I told my mother that. She knows I don't want anything to do with this royalty thing going on. After my oldest brother died, I was forced to rule. He'd only ruled for a few months before the Hazalians attacked our solar system for the special crystal we call the Simmer Crystal.

All civilizations have them. They are very special, giving us extraordinary abilities and technology to make our ships and buildings. Our military advanced heavily with these crystals.

They are mostly found in caves and underground. Sometimes even in the vast oceans we carry.

The more you have these crystals, the stronger your civilization can become. To the armor we have and to the weapons we use. Zecht homeworld was full of them. We are rich in Simmer Crystals. Our technology is filled with these crystals, making us the richest civilization known to Intelligent Civilization. Which brings us to the Hazalians.

Over time they've become our enemy neighbors. Located thirty three light years away and with the help of the Simmer Crystals, we're able to reach them in three light days in a hyper speed classified spacecraft. But that was three years ago when my brother died. He'd gone to Hazal homeworld to make peace with them. Offer them a few crystals in exchange for respect and peace, but he was too nice. They took his life and proceeded to take other royalist families in the galaxy and loot them of the Simmer Crystals.

The Hazalians are dangerous. Like us, their terrain gives them special abilities. A dense rainforest and tidally locked planet is what they live on. Their gear is out of this world and reflexes and speed is unmatched. But the Zechtians. Myself. We have telekinesis and telepathy. Only the military and royal family members can obtain this ability to protect my kingdom. To protect me.

It was the day of my crowning and I got no sleep the night before. I couldn't. Lying next to me was a beautiful man. His black hair just over his eyes and skin pressed against mine.

I had no business sleeping with him before the day of me meeting my future husband, but I couldn't help it.

I've loved this man since I can remember. He was one of the guards. Without me, he wouldn't have made it this far up in the military. I remember looking into his brown eyes and perfect lips.

My fingers run across his smooth skin as he rubs my stomach in love. I lived in a castle. Not much of a castle, more of a giant building where they held dorm rooms for the guards and maids to sleep while the royalist family had their own rooms. And every night, I'd sneak him in my room. His name was Benjie Hawk.

My eyes move past his eyes and at the patterns in the wall. A symbol of the Zecht. A large window showing two stars coming up above the horizon. Benjie smiles at me. His purely white teeth shining at me.

I reach up and kiss him on the lips. "I should get ready. I am being crowned queen today. And after that, I'd be getting married to the king of Geelexa." I touched his chest that he took two years to build. He sighs softly and looks at me. My breast sticking out through the black blanket we used to cover our nude bodies up to my collarbone while it was down to his abs.

"You're really getting married. What will happen to us?" His voice trembled in a sense of sadness for a little. I could feel the jealousy in his voice when he spoke to me. But I didn't want to talk about it. I didn't want to talk about this man I'd be getting married to in front of my lover.

I simply stay silent and shrug a little. I could tell he couldn't bear it. It stands and heads to his rob that hung on the stoned wall. An animal head next to the wrack that my father managed to kill in his hunting stages of his preparation for king.

"Where are you going, Benjie?"

"To my room. My team has to be up to escort you to your husband and his family, am I right?" Benjie turns and looks at me while he ties his robe around himself. I sit up. "You're angry, and I can see it," I say.

He drops his hands to his side and looks at me in frustration. "Yes... yes I am. The woman I love is getting married to another guy who she's never met before. I've known you since we were lads. We went to the same school! And now you're getting married to some random prince... king, whatever he is tomorrow morning. It hurts, y'know," Benjie says.

I sat there curled up in my blanket, looking down at the cotton it was made out of. My mind is everywhere as of right now. But that quickly changed. I look up and the wall to my right begins to split in sections. Each section turned sideways, revealing a large hallway with a vast window to the right.

Coming into my room was my mother, queen Kizzy. My eyes go wide as Benjie drops what he was doing and stands guard. His hands behind his back and posture immaculate.

Mother looks at me then to Benjie who avoided eye contact with her knowing he was caught for the third time in my room.

"You are excused, Mr. Hawk." Her eyes stayed on me as Benjie bows, speed walking out of the room and past the sectioned walls that turned into an exit. I sigh and look back at the blanket.

Mother poses there. Her eyes are nearly lifeless as she looks at me with disappointment.

"You're late."

"To what? The ceremony is an hour from now!"

"And we've changed it to this hour! We have other things we have to do." Mother raises her voice.

"Get dressed. Your father is going to be disappointed in you when he hears why you're late. I'll be banishing Benjie from this building and shall be put in prison for the disobeyment of his queen." Mother turns around.

I quickly get out of bed, grabbing my robe. "Mother! No! Please! Don't do that to him," I proclaim. I step in front of her, blocking her from walking out of the room. My eyes moved from her and to the black hooded kimono she wore since it was tradition for this civilization to wear.

"I've given him and you multiple chances to stop the affairs."

"And they will! I promise. This time, I promise. Just please. Don't tell father, and don't banish him. Please." I grab my mother's hands and look at her kimono, too embarrassed to look into her eyes.

I could tell I was reaching her soft side. She always had one for me because she knows how my father can get.

"Fine. But that puppy face won't stop me next time, you hear? Now get dressed and meet us in the ceremony courtyard," Mother speaks. I hug her and make my way to a large clothing rack.
