Chapter 1: A Ticket to Azkaban

July 26, 1991.

Surrey, Staines, Thames, on the second floor of an opulent villa.

Ethan Adrian sat on the edge of his bed, squinting at the envelope in his hand, the morning sun casting a gentle glow across the room.

Suddenly, a rapid tapping on the window startled Ethan awake. He hurried to open it and saw an owl flying in, clutching a letter in its talons—the same letter that now rested in Ethan's hands.

The envelope bore his name, Mr. Ethan Adrian, written in dark green ink. On its back, a crimson wax seal displayed a shield-shaped emblem with a lion, an eagle, a badger, and a snake encircling the letter "H".

At last, the day had arrived.

As a time traveler turned wealthy scion, Ethan had carefully mapped out his future—diving into finance, stocks, and even opening an import business in his spare time. Little did he know how profoundly his plans would be altered.

Back in elementary school, in the second grade, there was a classmate named Harry Potter, marked by a lightning-shaped scar on his forehead. During recess, a hefty boy named Dudley often picked fights with him.

From that moment, Ethan realized he had landed in "Hermione and His Two Good Children".

Reflecting for a moment, Ethan decided ignorance of magic might be bliss. Magic and Muggles existed in two distinct societies. Surely, one could avoid conflict if one didn't engage?

Could he simply opt out?

However, within a month, Ethan found himself embroiled in magical upheavals, proving his wizarding credentials.

And with those credentials came the obligation to enroll.

True, he could opt for magical schools abroad, like Ilvermorny. Yet, barring Voldemort's resurrections, life at foreign wizarding schools might not outshine that at Hogwarts.

"Alas!"

With a sigh, Ethan reluctantly opened the envelope, withdrawing the parchment within.

Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry

Headmaster: Albus Dumbledore (Chief of the International Confederation of Wizards, Supreme Mugwump of the International Confederation of Wizards, Grand Sorcerer of the Order of Merlin, First Class)

Dear Mr. Adrian,

We are pleased to inform you of your acceptance to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry...

As Ethan finished reading the acceptance letter, a golden interface suddenly materialized before him.

The sensation was peculiar—a tangible addition to his surroundings without hindering his vision of the room and the interface itself.

The interface, remarkably simple, displayed:

Name: Ethan Adrian

Age: 11

Blood Status: Wizard

Talent: "Enhanced Soul" (Increased soul solidity enhances learning speed and spellcasting.) "Robust Physique" (Improved physical fitness and magical adaptability through exercise.)

Spells: None

In the bottom right corner sat a red gift box, adorned with a ribbon.

Undoubtedly, his beginner's gift package.

Though this 'Gold Finger' seemed mundane, it offered a crucial advantage in a world where magical resources were tightly controlled. Ethan felt a surge of relief.

Surprisingly, he possessed talents he hadn't anticipated.

"Enhanced Soul" likely resulted from his temporal displacement, enhancing his learning capacity.

"Robust Physique" seemingly stemmed from inherent physical prowess. Ethan had always attributed his robust physique to rigorous exercise—essential for mobility and health.

Little did he expect this talent extended to magic.

As the ribbon unfurled into a bow, three golden lights ascended into the sky.

Three consecutive golds—a near perfect score! Ethan nearly grinned ear to ear.

As the golden glow dimmed, something appeared in the spell section of the interface. Before Ethan could discern the details, he froze, a crooked smile fixed on his face.

Suddenly, he wasn't in his room anymore. Instead, he stood amidst a desolate landscape, surrounded by spectral figures.

They writhed, screamed, and collapsed, bathed intermittently in eerie green light.

"Crucio!" (Agony!)

"Avada Kedavra!" (Avada Kedavra!)

"Imperio!" (Control!)

Each spell reverberated in Ethan's mind, weighing heavily on him, leaving his head spinning and his vision blurred.

Minutes later, Ethan rose from his bed, having mastered all three spells. No wand or incantation required—he wielded them instinctively.

The spell section of the interface had updated:

Spells: Killing Curse (10), Cruciatus Curse (10), Imperius Curse (10)

Formidable spells—favorites of Voldemort himself.

Yet, these Unforgivable Curses were off-limits.

They guaranteed a life sentence in Azkaban upon use.

Before Ethan could ponder further, the interface flashed again.

[Falling into Darkness]

A soul steeped in darkness journeys further along the path of a dark wizard.

Achievement: Master Unforgivable Curses (3/3)

Reward: Enhanced Dark Magic Aptitude

[I Am Darkness]

Trampling flesh, toying with souls, reaping lives—am I the darkness?

Achievement: Maximize Unforgivable Curses (3/3)

Reward: "Heart of Darkness" Talent (Master black magic without emotional attachment.)

[Mastermind]

Incredible! You, seemingly innocuous, harbor the darkest depths.

Achievement: Conceal Unforgivable Curses from all scrutiny (3/3)

Reward: Cast spells unnoticed by observers, barring your own eyes.

"What are you implying?"

Ethan's expression stiffened as he read these achievements. Did this mean he wasn't a force for good?

"Hoot, hoot, hoot!"

An owl's call broke Ethan's reverie, reminding him he needed to pen a reply—and prepare a treat for the owl first.
